Probably the easiest option is to go to the toolbox menu and select the gaffer tape option. You may need to apply more than one patch to get the result you are after.

It's the same problem. It manifests itself in many variations. Completely AWOL pair of tuners means complete regulator failure. It's certainly worth attempting to repair it.

Here is a story from my end. I don't expect that you are in the same boat, but here it goes... I have a V2 on the pile of " see if I can fix it later " things. It's a pre-production or very early production unit that I used to develop the V2 firmware. Initially it would have a random crash...

Was your replacement capacitor a high quality, low ESR part? A generic Jaycar capacitor is probably not sufficient for power supply duties. And are you now using the new (high quality?) external power supply? I would be a bit wary of the original Beyonwiz power brick after a couple of years of conti...

Overscan settings can be per-input. Thus turning overscan off for the Amazon Firestick input does not necessarily mean that overscan will also be turned off for the Beyonwiz input.
Check all settings again while viewing the Beyonwiz.

If the T4 has one heat sink spanning two voltage regulators of different heights and/or the factory original heat sink adhesive has not been completely removed, the a complete shut down, when not in use, is probably better. If the T4 has no circuit board damage, all the gunk was cleaned off, the vol...

Oh, if you can, bring your V2 with you and make sure that the power brick plug makes good contact. This kind of plug comes in two variants for the centre pin and when mismatched it's either loose or won't go in. There are a few manufacturers that use plugs that can accommodate both variants, with an...

Those are 3.5" drives. The datasheet for WD40EFRX shows the peak 12V DC current at 1.75A (that's 21W during spin-up) and sustained power draw between 3.3W (idle) and 4.5W (write 180MB/s). By comparison, a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro drive consumes between 0.055W (idle) and 8.6W (write 6,900MB/s). Power...

Re: Dead power brick, what to buy
I don't think anyone ever made 5.25" 4TB drives. Even if they did, you'd need to take into account that they need both 5V and 12V rails. 5.25" HDD platters are heavy, so it takes a fair bit of power to get them spinning. SSD power draw (and consequently the heat generated) is very variable...

Re: Dead power brick, what to buy
Jaycar will have one. 12V DC, 2.5A. Just under $40. or High quality 12V DC, 5A. Just under $70. It may be overkill for a V2 without peripherals, but it is a high quality unit. It's got enough capacity to be used for other devices, if needed. Don't buy the cheap $20 units of eBay or other marketplace...

Yep. Look after your T4. If you haven't had the tuner voltage regulator heat sinks checked and / or replaced, consider doing so before the thermal compound deteriorates enough to damage the motherboard and make the T4 unrepairable. If your T4 is flaky or does not work any more, do not put it in stor...

It's unlikely (though not impossible) that a lightning strike would give you glitchy HDMI output. The symptoms you describe could be a result of poor or deteriorating cabling / connection. I'd try a different (high quality) HDMI cable and would also test a different HDMI input on the AVR / TV. And o...

Some of the menu hooks have changed over the years, so firmware compatibility is the most likely cause. It's unlikely, but perhaps not impossible, that it would work. It really depends on whether the plugin code is backwards compatible with such an old version of the firmware. The information given is less than precise, so I'd be inclined to take the details with a grain of salt. I'm fairly confident that the speed was never at 10GB/s. That would imply a connection in the ~100 Gigabit/s category and such throughput is pretty much unattainable with current consumer hardwar...

Are you sure it is 2TB, not 2GB? If the router speed drops down to 100 Mbps/s on more than one router port, it stands to reason that it's the cable or the thing connected to the other end of the cable that's causing the slow speed. Since you tried multiple cables and got the same results, that leaves the Beyonwiz as the most likely...

The AP-U1, IMNSHO, is not a great remote. It came from the factory pre-programmed with one set of Beyonwiz codes (only about 90% compatible), but these were just loaded into the "user" memory. If at any stage you reset the AP-U1, all the Beyonwiz codes would be lost and the only way to get...
