Hmm. Hadn’t thought of that.As you have an Apple TV there's no point in the dongle but if you route it via a splitter to HDMI-IN you can record shows to watch later.

Re: HbbTV - how is this accessed?
@peteru and @pri thank you both for your prompt replies. :D It was one of the features that I looked for when I was checking out replacements for my deceased Topfield back in June last year. I have access to the catch up services via both my TV and my Apple TV so it is no longer an issue. I just tho...

HbbTV - how is this accessed?
I have a U4 and am really impressed with it. However one of the feature it supposedly has is hbbtv. For the life of me I can’t find how to enable/access this. After searching this forum I have worked out I need a plugin, but I am totally lost as to which plugin. There is no “hbbtv” plugin and the we...

Re: U4 lost sound after switching to 2160p output
a final note on my washed out colours. Looking through the picture settings on my Sony AF9 I noticed one to do with HDR Mode. I forget what it was on but as I cycled through its possibilities my picture came rich and no longer washed out. This setting was "Auto". It then occurred to me I w...

Re: U4 lost sound after switching to 2160p output
I was of course just going to leave things as they were seeing it was working but I wanted to see if I could answer your query. I switched to 50Hz and everything, was, fine. I switched back to “multi” and still everything was fine. So it isn’t that the refresh rate needs to be 60Hz, just that it got c...

Re: U4 Change Mode to 2160p - Loose Sound
I had a similar issue but it was solved by a reply from the help desk. The suggestion was to set the refresh rate from 50hz to 60hz on the U4. I actually had it set to “multi” (covering all bases?) I set it to 60hz, pressed OK and the sound returned. Link to my thread https://www.beyonwiz.com.au/for...

Re: U4 lost sound after switching to 2160p output
Actually I re-read your comment and went to have a look at the thread. I had forgotten about the HDMI settings in the AVR. So I checked they were all on standard. I changed them all to enhanced. Unfortunately when I did this the U4's signal went completely away, no sound and no picture. Wondering if...

Re: U4 lost sound after switching to 2160p output
Ok, I have amSony STD1080 AVR with a Sony KD-65A9F Oled. I also have a Popcorn A-500 and an Oppo UBD 203. All devices go through the Sony AVR into a single input on the TV set to enhanced HDMI. All work as expected (sound and vision) with the exception of the U4 since I set it to 2160. I tried plugg...

Re: U4 lost sound after switching to 2160p output
I might try that tomorrow (need to move a bit of furniture, again). I did try the Beyonwiz app on my iPad and that had sound so it could well be something strange with hdmi. It did work before I changed the outpu though, so it is strange that it should have an impact. I might also try a different in...

U4 lost sound after switching to 2160p output
I have had my U4 for a few months now and have been very pleased with it. Today I installed my new 4K TV and went over to the U4 to set its output from 1080p to 2160p. Up until this point everything was working well with sound coming from my blu-ray, popcorn, the TV itself and the U4 all through my ...

Re: Browsing network forever - help.
A second time. Yes. That worked. I have now saved my server volume. Thank you. Case closed. :D :D :D But there really need some documentation for this stuff. Multiple reboots? Indertiment time for settings to trickle through. Needing to select something twoce when there is nothing on screen indicati...

Re: Browsing network forever - help.
HOLD THE 'PHONE!!! Well after taking screenshots of the different screens. Trimming them and reducing their res to post to the forum I went back to check how the browsing was going (I had left it on that screen.) It was no longer present so I network browsed again and it worked!! I saw my printer, m...

Re: Browsing network forever - help.
Yes, the info is there when I look at Information->Network.
That's where I confirmed it.
It also shows the correct IP as defined on my router's DHCP (I assign IP's based on MAC address in my router.)
But when I look at Setup->Network->Network Interface there are only question marks ???

Re: Browsing network forever - help.
further exploration.
I have set the <root> password and can successfully log in from my Mac via SSH as well as FTP.
So network wise my devices can certainly see the U4.

Re: U4 USB upgrade - what's the trick?
sorted!
I was reading and following the wrong instructions!
Found the blinking power button and pressed it.
Still there was NOTHING displayed on the TV except the Beyonwiz logo during all this.

U4 USB upgrade - what's the trick?
I have been trying to upgrade from USB on a newly installed U4. When I first set it up I was informed of an upgrade online (large one) and so I installed that. (1000+files/278 <- humour?) While asking a question on another forum it was suggest I re-flash the firmware from USB. I downloaded the lates...

Re: Browsing network forever - help.
Home network uses correct mask and is small (172.16.1.1-200) and has been in use for over 10 years serving over 20 devices. IP to U4 is set by router and correctly picked up. As for trying to reflashing firmware. Tried 2 different USB (one 16GB, one 2GB) both formatted Fat32. Both are seen as attach...

Re: Browsing network forever - help.
At a guess, your home network is misconfigured and uses a 10.x.x.x IP address range with a subnet mask other than 255.255.255.0 Fix up your router to work with a smaller subnet and all will be well. Actually my network uses the range 172.16.1.1 to 172.16.1.200 and the netmask is 255.255.255.0 I hav...

Browsing network forever - help.
Hi, Just got a new U4 today and have been setting it up. Network setup is confusing as when i look at network info I see the U4 has correctly grabbed an IP and is on my LAN. Wired connection to Airport base station. It is a working connection as part of setting things up included downloading over 10...
