Re: Considering buying a V2 questions
I can't see any specification about the packaged optional external hard drives.................. They are 2.5" drives, (WD Elements)................. Thank you. I have a spare 4TB 3.5" drive but would need to purchase an eco friendly power supply/case. Buying the standard might be easier ...

Re: Considering buying a V2 questions
I'm not quite sure where this question goes... I can't see any specification about the packaged optional external hard drives. For example, are they bus powered 2.5" or externally powered 3.5". What is the power profile. The V2 by itself is eco-friendly, but the hard drive could kill it's ...

Re: Considering buying a V2 questions
I've an old Hauppauge Nova-TD dual tuner USB stick in the cupboard. This is a a USB2.0 HD-TV DVB-T stick.
Is it likely to work with the V2? No 4k is not an issue.

Release Notes anywhere? Here . Thank you. I tried to think what else besides "Release Notes" I should search for. :) Haven't looked on the forum for several months & just found there's newer firmware. Easily done. I understand the issue about can't auto-update notify for the major ver...

Release Notes anywhere? All I can find is reference to posting release notes later, but can't find any. Can't say I've looked at every post though.

Re: T4 reboot loop
If you want to retrieve the AutoTimer definitions from your 16.1-series backup, see from this post and following posts - viewtopic.php?f=56&t=11444&hilit=extrac ... 00#p159234 thank you GG - good to know for next time. Time for a clean out :) I'll dig out the xml & check what I may have...

Re: T4 reboot loop
As noted above, best recovery method is a usb firmware update to 17.5. That's all done. The hard/time consuming part is setting up all the settings, autotimers etc You can uninstall the Merlin EPG plugin from the command line using the opkg utility. I'll store the uninstall method for future use. I...

Re: T4 reboot loop
16.1 isn't a Beyonwiz software version. It's the version of the underlying system that the firmware is built on. There are 18 Beyonwiz firmware versions built on 16.1. I've just looked at what I have downloaded & installed (beyonwiz-16.1-beyonwizt4-20170310_usb). That's the only advisory email ...

T4 reboot loop
It's hot outside & that time of year. Time to do something silly... I've installed a couple of packages & now during reboot it just loops. First time loads from 35%, shows WizOS screen, loading up to 49%, TV flickers blank, then -> 1 while showing WizOS screen, beyonwiz shows loading 50% up ...

Re: TiVo Service ends October 31, 2017 -> Fetch Mighty vs T4
I'm a TiVo owner who decided before xmas to buy a T4. Looked at both Fetch & Beyonwiz and settled on the additional functionality of the T4. I certainly like the various configurable skip/jump functions on T4. I'm not sure the remote is up to it. Haven't decided about the Fetch offer. Some funct...

Re: slow UI issue
For some reason the remote is now in a mode the box not responding to! Box OK from browser remote & Logitech remote, so is remote issue. It turns out that was a near flat battery, still flashing its lights but not operating the unit. Can't believe brand new only lasted < 3 months light usage.

Re: slow UI issue
Peter, Thank you for that advice.
I'll go direct to plan-B, ie, install another HD.
May try testing the new (used) drive attached to the PC first.

Re: slow UI issue
It does sound a bit like the harddisk is generating silent errors if you are only seeing this issue in the media list. There is no way that any normal operation in the media player should take 20-30 seconds. The most you should be expecting would be around 5 seconds for a *very* full directory (I'v...

slow UI issue
I'm having trouble with very slow UI & trying to figure out how to fix it. I bought a new T4 December & have plenty of timers and everything seems to be recording/playing correctly. When I press the media button to access recording, it can take 30 seconds or more for the directory to fill ou...
