If it was Daniel Hall who called you, and it probably was, then yes, he's the IceTV CTO. tbh Peter, I forgot IceTV even had a forum (I haven’t visited that site in over 5 years) thought here WAS the place to discuss IceTV related things on my Beyonwiz.
As it turned out, the IceTV CTO (presumably) telephoned me instead and we had a nice 20 minute chat

Re: New feature, non-recording previously recorded programs
OK, that's cleared that up, but do you want those repeated repeats recorded? I can't think of a good reason why you would. yes, not always, but there are occasions, like 8 out 0f 10 cats for example, that if the episodes are repeated periodically I'll happily watch them again, always good for a lau...

It won't record recent (where "recent" seems to be "within the last month") repeats of repeats that you've already recorded. I'm not sure what you mean by "ongoing repeats" of a program. It's certainly recording all the episodes of the current season 7 of X-Files for m...

Re: New feature, non-recording previously recorded programs
IceTV now keeps track of the last month (4 weeks?) of your recording history and won't re-record a repeat showing of an episode in a First Runs & Repeats series recording if that episode has already been recorded within that last month. It's most effective against re-repeats of shows marked as ...

New feature, non-recording previously recorded programs
Hi, IceTV have just released a new feature where it does not record any program that has been previously recorded. I’m not familiar with all the nuts and bolts of this feature however on the surface it seems like a good idea. There is one issue though, what happens if I do actually want some series ...

Re: DP-Lite HD channels
I was kinda interested in replacing it with the new model but to be honest, a very high percentage of the media we consume now is streamed and really not sure if I’d miss the PVR, similar with the IceTV subscription. It has its uses, but could probably live without it these days.

Returning to the USB recognition question, on one of my U4s I had the same problem with a USB stick hanging mid upgrade to 19.3. It was an old faithful but no amount of re-downloading fixed it. Importantly, it hung mid upgrade each time. However, another USB stick worked fine. An old Imation IIRC. ...

Oh, excellent! My T4 did go to Warkus, but it was 3 years ago now after I bricked it after a front panel update (all stemmed from a power failure) sounds like some other parts were replaced at the time - maybe the regulators? From memory, he's actually had this unit back a year or two ago when after an update the Front Panel died (can't recall at the time if the FP was replaced or the whole unit though) The T4 suffers from a common failure relating to the power regulators. This often hits the tuners firs...

Perhaps, but that doesn't really explain why either of the USB's I tried, (one new, one old) allowed 17.5 to be flashed back successfully does it? Also, the fact that I did manage to get it to boot once with 19.3 installed (by flicking the power off and on) but not again would suggest something mor...

I was just using an off the shelf 32GB Sandisk USB3. I might find another (older) one to try. That might be your problem. Wizzes can be very picky about which USB sticks they will recognise when flashing firmware. Anything that's USB3 is probably waay too new to work with the Wiz. The Lexar S50, av...
