That's what I do on out T4, but I do it to reduce power usage, not to try to affect its longevity.

Interesting thought, but you would think that the HDD would keep up recording 1 program and playing back 1.

Another thought if it is antenna problem would the audio stream not also be interrupted. My audio stream is unaffected.
