I looked at the logs on both T4s and the one that isn't updating has much sparser info than the one on the 'good' T4.

Just checked and the t4 has recorded two shows today with no problems,including one tonight, so it can't be the tuner.
But I still can't access the channels in the normal way. Maybe a wrong setting? No epg.

That's ok. I'm very thorough, but you aren't to know that. At least tuner A being the problem has been eliminated, which I hadn't thought of.

Yes, I have to connect tv directly to wall inlet to watch tv. So antenna cable not the problem.
Changing to tuner b makes no difference. Also I can get into a channel via strange means eg through terrestrial.

Thanks for all that. I will change the 'old' t4 tomorrow so that the seek bar works off the single left and right arrows. I've already customised the first t4 to pretty much how I want it, including forward and back skipping.
