I successfully purchased a backup V2 through their ebay store a couple of weeks ago. Maybe took a couple of days before being posted, but i wasn't in any hurry. He is still being advertised on the weekly IceTV news email.

For those after a "spare" Beyonwiz V2 – there is 1 for sale on eBay from NASA Electronics at $249 – described as Seller Refurbished and with a 45 day warranty and includes a built in dual tuner, Remote, Wifi dongle, Power Adapter and HDMI cable – no HDD I've grabbed one and there's one le...

Re: Wishlist for Next PVR?
I think “wishlist for next PVR” is like asking what’s your wishlist for the next optical disk format. There won’t be one. My Topfield is dying and so I did the hunt for replacement PVRs. There is Panasonic (with all its FreeView crippledness, including encrypting recordings so they can’t be copied)...

I have decided that my unit must have a hardware fault, so I have tried to contact Beyonwiz by email. But so far, one week later, I have had no response. Thanks. I'll work out how to install those plugins.
Really odd though, as recording this station worked perfectly well for the 6 months leading up to April.

Strange behaviour recording from 9Go
Evening All, I've run into an odd problem. About a month ago I noted that recordings a high quality TV show ('RBT') started displaying erratic playback behavior. Often I would hit the fwd skip button and the file would advance to the very end / start of the recording. If I hit OK during playback, th...

Strangely enough, I have the same NAS, but using a V2 and have no problem mounting with AUTOFS (and everything else similar to that described here). Go figure I guess. I did have to stuff around a bit with the SMB settings at the NAS end, I seem to recall (set minimum SMB = 2). EDIT: Just checked......

Re: Failed HDD, how do I get warranty replacement?
You could try emailing the 'sales' email address (shop@beyonwiz.com.au)....no guarantees but probably a better chance of a reply.
Your odds of a warranty replacement may depend on what caused it to fail (e.g. a power outage / pulling the cable out while it was writing might not cut it).

Might be because I have a splitter. Well, that makes it a bit more complicated. A splitter can potentially replace, modify or corrupt EDID info.
