Re: EPG cache update bahaviour
Have had iceTV for many years on a DP-P1. It's just that the value-added features of the T3 now outweigh that system. Even had it tweaked to edit the xmltv file before import so that any series episode name appeared in the on-screen guide. Prior to the T3, scheduling recordings via iceTV was the duc...

Re: EPG cache update bahaviour
Sorry, maybe I'm not making clear points here. 1. Everything works fine now. 2. If you use free-to-air for EPG data, then be aware of this potential issue. 3. I don't know the true cause or even what's relevant - only what does work. If you use iceTV for EPG data then this whole thread is probably n...

Re: EPG cache update bahaviour
Okay, after a lot of testing, I've got some closure on this and a lesson for some of us. The method by which the FTA EPG gets refreshed makes little difference. Eventually after an hour or three, information was being lost. Turns out it's a consequence of changing the setting: Setup->TV->EPG->refres...

Re: EPG cache update bahaviour
Yep - been there done that - added instrumentation to the script and to the output of wget - all correct. Whoa ! All EPG data for C31 is gone again - and this is after running it via Telnet a while ago... Now, when I ran it via Telnet earlier, I verified that there was a weeks worth of programs in t...

Re: EPG cache update bahaviour
EIT repetition rate is a valid point - and that's simple to extend to 2mins as suggested. Blows away any timing issues too.

EPG cache update bahaviour
I initially thought that EPGrefresh may not be collecting FTA data correctly. So, I'm running the current release - 20150417 and I don't have iceTV - just running EPGrefresh to capture FTA data. After 9 days away from home, I returned to find no data in the EPG cache - so poor little autotimer has n...

Re: EPGrefresh
Sorry, my bad - that should be 'doesn't save'. The EPGrefresh plugin depends on enigma2 to save the EPG updates.

Re: EPGrefresh
As I see it, there are 3 thing in play here, and we want to try and minimise any interaction between them 1. The EPGrefresh plugin 2. The auto-timer plugin 3. The EPG cache function within enigma2. I've had similar failures and hangups as others, but this seems to work... Don't let EPGrefresh run th...

Recording indicator
Notice that there's a 'rec' indicator in the front panel display, but it won't light when the T3 is in standby ? It's also a pretty small and hard to see at a distance. There's a nifty parameter for the front panel display 'skin' that will flash the clock while the T3 is recording in standby mode. T...

eHdmiCEC messages in syslog
When HDMI CEC is enabled in my Sony TV, it polls the BeyonwizT3 every 15 seconds and generates the following in /var/volatile/log/messages: Jun 23 17:47:19 beyonwizt3 user.warn kernel: physicalAddress=4000 Jun 23 17:47:19 beyonwizt3 user.warn kernel: logicalAddress=03 Jun 23 17:47:19 beyonwizt3 user...
