Aus Open - Nine Broadcast at 60hz?

Post by BigbobOz » Sat Jan 22, 2022 22:09

Was watching the Aus open on my V2 a couple of nights back and the motion was just awful. Ball and players were jittery in their motion which after I noticed the info said 60hz, seemed to be frame rate issue. Sure enough, changing the Wiz to 60hz, fixed the jittery picture.

Did anyone else come across this?

They seemed to have mostly fixed this as it now needs to eb 50hz to be smooth but when I change channels, sometimes the info says 50hz and sometimes 60hz but just for Nine. Hence mostly fixed...

Yes, I noticed the jittery motion in the AO broadcasts a few nights ago and I wondered whether there was some 60/50Hz conversion problem along the way. I didn't think to check the infobar for the resolution parameters, though.

Ok thanks, was wondering if it was Nine or my setup.

We bought a new TV about a week beforehand so I thought it was the crappy motion smoothing that I hate doing a terrible job of the tennis. I thought I'd turned it off (they're making it harder and harder with new TVs to find the setting) but wasn't sure.

Just happened in the Medvedev vs Auger game, half way in the 4th, had to switch to 60hz to get smooth motion on the game. Info claims the footage is 50hz though...
