Second stage 4k DTV transmission trial Mar-Apr 2019.

A post on Whirlpool drew my attention to the fact that a trial of 4k/DVB-T2 will be running Mar-Apr this year.

Brisbane Mt Coot-tha and Gold Coast broadcast areas only, unfortunately. Anyone in the area with a U4 and 4k TV who can report on how it goes?

FreeTV press release from Nov 2018 about the same trial. For some reason, FreeTV doesn't mention 4k broadcasts from Mt Coot-tha.

The link in the Broadcast Australia press release above that's supposed to point to FreeTV is broken.

Yes, I was initially hoping that a U4 owner with a 4k TV might be able to post about the results, but I can't think of anyone in the test areas with that combo who's a regular on the forum.

I can't see where the trial is actually 4k, though I may have missed it. It's a DVB-T2 trial as far as I can see.

You're right. I misread the press release. I just says that DVB-T2 has the capability to support 4k, nit that that's what will be trialled

In last year's Sydney trial, I think they progressed to 4K in the latter stages (towards the end of June).
