Unable to scan channel 44 641.5 MHz Adelaide
Unable to scan channel 44 641.5 MHz Adelaide
I'm using a Beyonwiz T4 on the Beta feed with an Ice TV subscription. I have Just installed the latest beta update 20170711. Previously I have done full frequency scans for Adelaide and Channel 44 641.5Mhz, the community TV channel, has been scanned in and transmissions have been received. After installing the latest Beta update I noticed Tuner A and B showed 0% when I zapped to Channel 44. After checking with the operated of C44 to confirm that they were still transmitting on 641.5Mhz I did a full frequency scan to no avail. Channel 44 did not scan in although all the other channels did. When I attempted to do a manual scan I'm was unable to scroll to 641.5 MHz (channel 44) under the Transponder heading in the Manual Scan menu. The highest frequency I could obtain was 606.55 MHz(channel 39) before the frequencies reset and started to scrolling again from the lowest up. Could this be a function of the community TV licences supposedly be revoked on the 30th of June 2017 but now being reprieved for another 6 months.

Nope, it just sounds like the latest firmware is only configured to recognise channels up to 39.rfmoore wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2017 13:26The highest frequency I could obtain was 606.55 MHz(channel 39) before the frequencies reset and started to scrolling again from the lowest up. You are best off reporting this in the alpha thread. It should be a very quick fix to get this back into the next update.

Channel 44 (Adelaide) is broadcast on UHF 33, 564.5 MHz. The LCN is 44.
The top end of the UHF TV band has been sold to the mobile telephone industry.

If you want to select arbitrary channels, set your region to "Australia - Full Scan", otherwise you will only get the pre-defined channels for that region.

The Adelaide scan table has a correct entry for UHF 33, 564.5 MHz:
Code: Select all
<!--Areas Served
Adelaide, Adelaide Foothills, Craigmore/Hillbank, Victor Harbor
-->
<!--Transmitter Sites
Adelaide, Crafers, Elizabeth Downs, Newland Hill
-->
<terrestrial name="Adelaide">
...
<!-- CTS33 @ Crafers -->
<transponder centre_frequency="564500000" bandwidth="1" system="0"/>
...
Code: Select all
<!--Transmitter Sites
All Australian Digital TV channels
-->
<terrestrial name="Full Scan">
...
<!-- ch 33 -->
<transponder centre_frequency="564500000" bandwidth="1" system="0"/>

Re: Unable to scan channel 44 641.5 MHz Adelaide
rfmoore said, he wanted to try scanning RF channel 44 at 641.500 MHz. As IanB pointed out, it's the wrong thing to scan for and that's why it wasn't offered. But, if rfmoore still wants to scan RF channel 44, selecting the "Australia - Full Scan" option will allow him to scan any RF channel all the way up to 69. That goes pretty much for any area - if you want the access to the entire TV spectrum, then the "Australia - Full Scan" table is the ticket.
Re: Unable to scan channel 44 641.5 MHz Adelaide
I'm still having trouble tuning in to the Adelaide community tv station Channel 44 which transmits on 564.5MHz (Channel 33) When I do an automatic Australian scan or Adelaide scan the frequency scanned is 641.5 MHz(Channel 44). When I do a manual scan for 564.5MHz I get the same result as the other two scan methods ie no signal. However if I remove the RF TV input from theaerial to the T4 and place it into the TV which is normally connected to the T4 and do an automatic scan on the Bravia Sony TV it picks up Channel 33 564.5MHz. Any suggestions to improve the sensitivity of the T4 tuners?
Re: Unable to scan channel 44 641.5 MHz Adelaide
Are they actually broadcasting a digital signal? They're not stuck in analogue land, are they?

Which firmware are you running?
On the T4, where are you looking for the C44 service? If you're on a recent beta, scans haven't been updating the Terrestrial TV LCN bouquet, only the Last Scanned bouquet is being updated.
