Post by iamnotanumber » Fri Dec 05, 2014 16:58

although the beyonwiz can download the icetv guide it will not display all epg guide channels while in epg mode.
it won't display channels 14 TVSN,15 SPREETV, 34 NITV, 44 WEST TV, 74 TV4ME, 78 FRESH IDEARS, 92 EXTRA2, 94 EXTRA, 95 EXTRA 2,

I can still watch the channels just can't see whats on in the epg mode

IceTV doesn't offer EPGs for the "infotainment" channels. You should get EPG for NITV. I certainly do (ACT IceTV guide). Not sure about West TV.

Yes, icetv support 34 but not the others.

Is there a feature request here? Ie show the fta guide where there is no icetv guide. Or is that like crossing the streams and would result in total protonic reversal.

This is the DP series discussion area. I don't think there will ever be any more firmware upgrades for the DPs.

If the question is intended for the T3, then peteru would be the person to answer the question. But I suspect that you'd be right about the total protonic reversal.

I think it is more like Ice will withdraw their approval of the plugin/function if you start mixing their service with FTA data.

PeterU has hinted at trouble there without elaborating, but I can take a guess. Ice ran into a lot of legal trouble with the networks for making their guide available, so I'd say the last thing they'd want is clients getting mixed data feeds to muddy up those waters.

I can confirm that WestTV channel 34 Ice data is available though.

I was thinking of purely technical problems.

But the issues around copyright and trademarking might be nasty, too. It might even get to "passing off" if the network's data was displayed on a page with the IceTV logo (from Wikipedia: "The law of passing off prevents one trader from misrepresenting goods or services as being the goods and services of another"). IANAL.
