Recordings not highlighted in red

Post by mishmash » Tue May 29, 2012 17:10

Howdy,
Idle question, but I've noticed of late that timers are not showing in the EPG as 'red filled' cells.
These are all created via IceTV. Haven't noticed the issue with timers set directly via the EPG.
The pop-up shows the timer listed, and indeed the timer fires correctly.
Any ideas? Is it somehow I have the timers set for a different LCN than what's in the Ice EPG?
Maybe a rescan of the channels is in order....

Lately? I've had this problem with IceTV occasionally for as long as I can remember, and I've grumbled about it often enough on the IceTV forum..

However, there's been a recent change in the IceTV EPG Web pages (the recording setup panel is now quite different), so perhaps they've done something to exacerbate the problem.

It's probably best to grumble about it there, at least IceTV staff read the IceTV forum regularly and comment there, though my grumblings seem to have had little effect.

OK, I'll add to your grumblings on the IceTV forum.
I did notice it happen a while back but then stopped. IIRC I did a service rescan at the time and then the problem went away, which is why I wondered if there was some way my EPG was showing a different LCN than the one that the 'red cell' would be on. Of course, I have no idea what I'm talking about, and if you can't figure out what's causing it then I have no chance.

Cheers.

Have you checked if the LCN in the timer list on your Wiz is the same one shown in the EPG on your Wiz?
Cheers

Hi Mishmash,

This is particularly important for ABC1 (LCNs 2 *and* 21), 7 Digital (LCNs 7 *and* 70) and ONE (LCNs 1 *and* 12).

Regards,
Ian.

And is it possible that you have excluded some of the channels due to favourites?
This wouldn't stop the timers being set up.

I don't think that that should affect IceTV, either. But I could be wrong. The joys of locked-up-tight proprietary protocols.

I have had problems with IceTV when I've chosen the wrong LCN, but that affected every IceTV timer on the service, not just occasional ones. But the completed setting of timers on the Beyonwiz not showing up as scheduled on the IceTV Web page is a more random and infrequent affair, and is "equal opportunity" across all services. Similarly for the error triangle showing up sometimes when the timer was set perfectly on the Beyonwiz.

There's now a discussion of the problem with involvement of IceTV people on the IceTV forum.

I've had my usual whinge about how long the problem appears to have been neglected.

Peter, that fact that you are in Canberra probably has a lot to do with that. You know how much the rest of us Australians ignore most of what comes out of Canberra.

I had this problem once, a long time ago - so long ago that I can't remember the cause i.e. whether it was LCN-related or prl's unknown bug. I suspect the former, because it has been such a long time and I've never seen it happen since.

It would if the OP is looking at the guide on the Wiz and has excluded the LCN that the timer is set for.

I posted the question earlier because when they said IceTV Guide, I wondered if they were looking at it on the Wiz not the website.

Yes. I re-read mishmash's posts here and on the IceTV Forum, and I agree that he's describing a problem with the IceTV guide on the Beyonwiz not showing times. This could be a Favorites problem, and if the problem is just not the timers being displayed in the Beyonwiz's guide, it's not the continuing problem I've been having with incorrect displays on the IceTV Web page.
