Icons and Autotimers

Post by Red-Stag » Thu May 21, 2020 14:02

Dear All,

I came across the following

comment in the V2 User Manual and have been reading it. A few things which I notice which I would like to ask for comments / help on please? I have not been able to find the "Auto Timer Overview" referred to and would love to see it. Am finding it difficult to deploy auto-timers effectively. The usual results I get are either it does not record all events which is what I thought I wanted OR it does record EVERY single event including duplicates of exactly the same show and episode.

Seperately, I have not found an explanation anywhere of the various icons that the auto-timer uses, this would be very helpful.

Any thoughts would be most welcome?
Kind regards
Red-Stag

Here's the guide for Autotimers

Ignore the title saying T series as I don't believe there is any difference.

It's here in the FAQs, Tips & How to Guides T2 / T3 / T4 / U4 section of the forum.

Here is a list of some general icons and their meaning. (Also in the same section of the forums).

I think the only other Autotimer specific icons are an extra little symbol on the timer in the timer list that specifies that it was created by an Autotimer.
Logitech Harmony Ultimate+Elite RCs
Beyonwiz T2/3/U4/V2, DP-S1 PVRs
Denon AVR-X3400h, LG OLED65C7T TV

Ubiquiti UniFi Managed LAN/WLAN, Draytek Vigor130/Asus RT-AC86U Internet

There is only one Auto-Timer specific icon, the one that marks a timer as having been as having been created by an AutoTimer. It's listed in the second post in the Timer icons FAQ topic, in the Timer Icons - Timer info section.

AutoTimes aren't actually timers: they are search machines that generate timers that match the AutoTimer's search specification. All the timer icons listed in the FAQ item also apply to timers generated by AutoTimers, apart from the IceTV icon - a timer can't be both an AutoTimer-generated timer and an IceTV-generated timer.

Haha, event though I linked to it, I myself didn't even read to the second part in that thread, so I missed the extras. So yep, they're all there ;)
