Adblock on catchup TV

Post by Pearce » Tue Jul 20, 2021 07:35

Due to tuner C and D failures I have tried to watch catchup TV on my smart TV

I have a problem with 10play which will not allow me to watch anything because of adblockers which I do have on my PC. My smart TV is wired directly to my modem and even when I turn of my PC the TV still seems to detect Adblockers. How can this be so please?
ABC SBS Youtube etc all run without a problem and I think 7+ but not 10play.
Suggestions please Michael

Do you use a special filtering DNS service other than the one provided by your ISP?

What about any child filters or "Internet Security" features in your router/modem?

You might want to say which TV you have, exactly what the error message is, and perhaps also which ad blockers.

It seems odd that the TV can detect that you use ad blockers on your PC, though if it can, and that affects the 10play plugin on the TV, the plugin could remember that it has "seen" ad blockers and the plugin might do wherever it's doing even when the PC isn't running. Or perhaps the server side of 10play has seen the effects of the ad blockers when you use the PC on your account and is remembering it on that side.
