LG 2017 OLED firmware colour fix released

Post by MrQuade » Sun May 19, 2019 14:10

Just an FYI for all the LG OLED TV owners (2017 models B7/C7/E7).

The bug that caused the washed out colours in 4K 50Hz mode has now been fixed. (bt.2020 colours space issue)

A manual firmware update can be downloaded from the UK supporr website here.

No indication if our when this will be released on the Australian support site, or if it will be made available as an online update.

You would have been seeing this bug of you are running a U4 at 2160p50 resolution, or if you have a Foxtel iQ4 running at 4k.

A fix after 2 years... seems reasonable.

The bug was only introduced in November 2018. I was just impressed that the TV still got an update now it is 2 versions out of date.

Well apparently the update is now being pushed out to TVs online in Australia, so no need to manually download the UK USB update :)
