U4 front panel indicates a recording in progress when not recording.

Post by rpo83 » Mon Apr 08, 2019 09:52

Hi All,

I've just got my new U4 up and running, everything is great, it seems a bit quicker running through the menu system over the old T4, but the front display indicates a recording is in progress, when there isn't... no timeshift and no timers active! Has anyone seen this before?

Cheers

Steve

Not sure what causes it, but you can just shut down and then start back up and the erroneous indication should be gone.

I reported it after observing it was triggered somehow by the Vu+ addon in Kodi. I'm not sure at what stage it appears: at startup of Kodi (which polls the backend) or when switching to the TV tab|channels (or guide). I'm pretty sure it appears whether or not Live TV is invoked. I'm also pretty sure I have only observed it after Kodi is shut down, so it could also be triggered at that point.

I switched the backend to my T2 so I didn't have to restart the U4 every time it happened.

That makes sense then. PeterU mentioned that the indication could also be triggered by streaming:

I honestly pay so little attention to front panel indications, that I have never noted its behaviour.

Oh I've seen it a few times too, but I know the front panel can get its knickers in a knot so I have little faith in the Rec and Spinner indicators.

I set mine to auto dim so it doesn't annoy me!
