transfer recordings from V2 to PC
transfer recordings from V2 to PC
Hi
I'm new here. I searched the forums for ways to transfer recordings from V2 to a PC but could not find any results. Can someone tell me how?
Thanks.

Re: transfer recordings from V2 to PC
Is your V2 connected to your home network?
If so, you can browse the contents of the V2's recording directory from your PC.
The V2 should be visible to your PC's via SMB file sharing protocol (Windows networking).
If the V2 doesn't automatically appear in your network browser in your file explorer, you can enter the V2's address directly
"\\beyonwizv2\" or "\\<ip-address-of-your-v2>\"
You can also use FTP, but you need to first set up a network password on the V2 setup menu (MENU->Setup->Network->Password")
you can use a web browser, or your favourite FTP client to connect.
Username to login is "root" and the password is whatever password you set in the step above.
If your V2 isn't networked, then you can copy files off the V2 via a USB drive or thumstick. Plug in your USB storage device and use the "Sources/Files" entry in the main menu to browse to your recordings folder and copy recordings onto your USB storage.
If that info doesn't make sense, then let us know some more information about how your V2 and PC is set up and we might be able to help more.

Also, if networked, through your PC's web browser OpenWebif interface. IMO the most reliable way. Input your V2 IP address in the address bar and take it from there.

Re: transfer recordings from V2 to PC
My preference is to use FTP; while you could use OpenWebif, for me it has some drawbacks. I copy files to my PCs using FileZilla from both my Toppys and Beyonwizs. I save the settings for each device and it is just click. You can also transfer settings to other PCs.
When I got my first Beyonwiz I just continued to use FTP; the Toppy native web portal was not viable due to file size limits.

If you're on a windows computer you can use file explorer. Under the network icon, you should find the movie folder share. You may need to turn off password protected sharing but mine works fine with it on.
For convenience, I map the movies folders of my machines to drive letters.

Re: transfer recordings from V2 to PC
Thanks guys for your input.
I've setup smb and it was not working - V2 not showing on my network. Turns out it was my network settings as I have multiple network adapters. All good now.
