Offline Decode?

Offline Decode?

Can anyone tell me what the "Start Offline Decode" in the context menu of the Media Player does?
I've tried it, and all it seem to do is produce another file with the same name + "Decoded", with roughly the same size, but takes an eternity...Like over a day for a 30 minute file...

AFAIK that's only useful for recordings that made on encrypted channels, of which there are none being broadcast FTA in Australia. It's not something you need to use.

It's annoying when you select it by accident as I now have twice cos its quite a few key presses to stop it and delete it.
