no mac address showing in network settings - Lite
Hi
I have 2 DP lite pvrs
Both had been happily playing until fairly recently.
Kids pointed out that one stopped seeing the NAS
I swapped the units around (so I don't think it's a cabling issue). But the same unit still cannot see the NAS
When I go into Network Settings I notice that there is no value shown for the unit's mac address. Is this unusual? The other (working) unit does show it's mac address
Any advice greatly appreciated.. Thanks..Tim

Welcome.
The test forum is not the place to ask questions so I am moving this to the networking section so others can respond.

Do the two PVRs see each other using WizPnP?

Re: no mac address showing in network settings - Lite
Apologies for posting in the wrong section.
Looked in wizpnp. It is set up on both units
But neither BW can see the other. (I assume they should see eachother through the 'Network' screen from where the working unit can see the nas).
One upon a time this did work
Thanks
Tim

Re: no mac address showing in network settings - Lite
I suspect that it is a problem with the network hardware on the Lite that can't see the NAS.
You could try using Network time and see if they can both get the time from the network. If you already have it disabled, disable. then re-enable it and you should see whether they fetch the time correctly.

Re: no mac address showing in network settings - Lite
Thanks Peter
The working unit gets the time from the network.
The non working one does not get the time.
Guess I'll have to wait until the refurbs come on special again and pick one up.
Thanks again

Hi Tim,
Welcome!
It is most unusual for a device to loose its MAC address. This is usually an indication of hardware failure. You may want to contact Mark (Warkus on this forum) to get his professional advice.
Regards,
Ian.
