Problem with new remote for U4

Hi, I brought a new remote for my U4 from beyonwiz last week and can't get it working with the U4. I've tried the instructions that come with the new remote to set the remote to the U4, but I don't get any response. I've tried new batteries, and can see that when I press the buttons on the remote it indicates activity. I reached out to technical support, but didn't get any resonse from them.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do next ?

Which remote exactly did you get? Can you give a link to the remote's page on the Beyonwiz shop?

The shop page for remotes doesn't seem to list the original U4 remote.

Usually you have to change the U4 to accept the remote code set of the remote.

You use the old remote to set Menu-Setup-System-Remote Control Code Set to Beyonwiz T3 and confirm the change with the new remote. If T3 doesn't work, try the other codesets one at a time.

Do not discard the old remote. You may want it if you ever reflash the firmware.

To better check the new remote is sending its codes, point it at your phone camera and press the buttons. It should light up purple if the sender IR LED is working.

I assume you pressed GREEN after selecting the new codeset. That's essential to make the change stick.

I've done this many times with my U4s. Until recently I ran them on the T3 codeset to save me updating the Harmony universal remote.

Is your U4 connected to your home network? If so, you can control it via the browser on your phone or tablet. You type BeyonwizU4 into the address bar and it brings up the Openwebif interface. On the left of screen is a crude remote that expands to a full remote if you press the diagonal arrow icon.

Overall, I'd be surprised if the new remote is a dud so I would persist before seeking a replacement.

Hello, Finally got the new remote control working. I re-read the instructions sticker on the package of the new remote control and relised that I needed to save the settings, once with the old remote and once with the new remote, then exit and Bingo ! it worked.
