U4 Would Not Update SBS Viceland to World Movies
U4 Would Not Update SBS Viceland to World Movies
This report is posted at the request of Beyonwiz in case anyone else has the problem. We worked through it together but were unable to isolate the cause
Problem: The U4 did not pick up the change from SBS Viceland (SD) to World Movies (HD).
Symptom: The SBS Viceland logo remained in the EPG with no programming shown. Manually selecting what should have been World Movies displayed a generic DVB service message with no picture no sound.
Activity: Ran both automatic and manual rescans. During both scan processes all SBS services would list properly as being scanned including World Movies. It appeared the U4 could not save the updated information into its operating configuration and something kept inhibiting it from recognising the changes. We went through and confirmed all the menus settings and nothing stood out. We did a backup, then a factory reset and SBS World Movies came up as expected. But reloading the backup caused World Movies to go bad again.
The solution was a factory reset and then having to reset all of local customisations. If anyone else experiences this please report it for record.

What firmware version?
In an earlier firmware version the Terrestrial TV LCN bouquet was not updated after a scan.
The updated services could be seen in Last Scanned, and copied to the Favourites bouquet.

I believe I have the exact same issue, however in regards to Sky News on WIN.
For the last week I have seen the same behaviour.
I did nothing for this to occur. One day the EPG stopped populating for the channel and all I could see was the picon.
I had assumed perhaps an issue with the service and have tried a scan to see if it repopulates the EPG rather than just the picon.
No luck. I then thought maybe my 2nd antenna (pointing to Woolongong) may have moved.
I live in Sydney BTW.
I guess I'll have to put some time aside to conduct your experiment although I am not looking forward to entering all settings manually again...
Cheers
Jules

Hi,
I’ve been using Iansav feed, so it would be the last update that came through. I’ll have a look and confirm when I get in tonight.
Thanks

Re: U4 Would Not Update SBS Viceland to World Movies
That's the latest production release.
So, your problem is that when you zap to Sky News on WIN, the EPG doesn't get updated - is that right?
What region/broadcast market are you in?
If you zap to Sky News on WIN, then MENU>>Information>>Service, what is the Service Reference value reported (don't bother with the ':EEEE0000:0:0:0:' suffix)?
Re: U4 Would Not Update SBS Viceland to World Movies
Reference is N/A.
There is no image or sound. Only the picon.
Where the channel name should be shown only DVB service can be seen.
I am in Sydney, but can pick up Wollongong stations with a second antenna. I was picking up Sky News just fine previously.
My symptoms seem identical to the OP

Please provide a screenshot from MENU>>Information>>Service when zapped to Sky News.
Alternatively when zapped to Sky News, use OWIF and Main>>Television>>Current. In the 'Service' box, what is the middle column value on the bottom (Sref:) line?
edit -
Or go to here -
http://beyonwizu4/web/getservices?sRef= ... %20bouquet
Then in the resultant web page, find the WIN service and copy that line and the one above it and post it here.
Here's an example (not of WIN though as I don't receive that) -
<e2servicereference>1:0:1:E01:E00:323E:EEEE0000:0:0:0:</e2servicereference>
<e2servicename>West TV</e2servicename>

Re: U4 Would Not Update SBS Viceland to World Movies
Dinner can wait...in between cans, so here goes -
Press FAV>>MENU, then OK on MENU/Configuration, then enable setting Enable multiple boiuquets, then GREEN/Save.
Then FAV again - now a bouquet name will show. I don't know which will show for you, as I don't know what was the last bouquet.
If WIN is shown then select and OK it. Good pic and sound - good.
If not, then bring up FAV, press CH+/- to swap to another bouquet, locate WIN and select it. Rinse repeat if no good.
[Alternative bouquet selection is FAV and FAV again, then select bouquet, then select WIN service (channel)].
Re: U4 Would Not Update SBS Viceland to World Movies
I reckon you nailed it!
I did a channel scan (again) to ensure I picked up WIN.
You were correct in assuming I has Enable multiple bouquets disabled.
Once enabled I was able to locate the fresh scan of Sky News on Win and add it to my favourites.
It must have overwritten the dodgy previous channel because I now have a picture back and amazingly it has started a previous timer that wasn’t working this time last night.
All in all a brilliant result and great advice albeit a bit of a strange situation to find oneself in with a channel “blanking out” and not working.
I think you deserve that second beer now!
Cheers

[This is the sort of perseverance that others should've gone through rather factory reset...]

It's also an issue that's not covered by the Beyonwiz video about "how to rescan your TV channels without the need to do a factory reset"
As well, if people follow the first, single channel, scan method in the video, their Last Scanned bouquet won't be suitable as scan data for me to use for picon creation, though I'd hope that most of the people who contribute to that data are aware of that.
