That's not at all normal. Try reloading the USB update. If that doesn't help, you may need to contact Beyonwiz support.

Status of what devices? If you reboot the Wiz again, do you see the Beyonwiz logo at any point?
Do the rectangles look like a test pattern? You described it as looking like a "remote"?

This doesn't sound like the Beyonwiz creating that screen to me. At least I don't know of any way to make it do that. It's more like something the TV or an AV amplifier might display, though bugger knows why they'd start doing that all of a sudden.

It looks like some kind of factory test mode. When I press the power button on the unit the power rectangle lights up on the screen, when I press the channel up or down on the unit the relevant rectangles light up.
I've emailed support.

Ok. All good. I'm an idiot.
I somehow updated with an earlier version of the firmware instead of the latest version.
Updated again with latest version and all good.

still, interesting that it went into some kind of factory mode.
should've taken a pic.

thanks for your help.

If you ended up in factory mode, the most likely explanation is that you have a new(ish) T4, but used old firmware that did not support the new flash chip.

Installing current T4 firmware will get everything working again.

Just upgraded via usb the latest download firmware, and have noticed the EPG has the left edge cut off.

Today being Monday, only the "day" part of it is visible.

Perhaps the answer is elsewhere and I haven't come across it yet.

You'll find that all of the edges are cut off. Have a search in the thread for "overscan".

Your TV is currently set to overscan the image that is being sent to it, and the TV is consequently cutting off the edges.
The ideal setting is to turn off overscan in the TV. The TV might currently be set to "16:9" mode. It needs to instead be set to "dot-by-dot", "just-scan", "per-pixel" or whatever your brand of TV calls its non-scaled setting.

Previous firmware versions on the Wiz automatically compensated for overscan by shrinking the GUI size. This is not an ideal way to do things in this day and age of modern flatscreen TVs, so the setting was changed in the Wiz. You can still re-scale the GUI in the Wiz if your TV lacks the proper settings.

You may also be pleased to hear that the next version of firmware, which is almost ready for public release, contains a whole raft of new security related settings and measures. Given your previous dramas with security, this should help things along (although I really hope that you have stopped using unsecured public IPs on your network now).

Thanks MrQuade.... I'll go changing that now. :)
