MovieJoin is a plugin to join two or more movies together. The movies must be
.ts (standard recordings; enforced) and compatible (basically from the same service; not enforced).
To join a recording that has been split (e.g. if the box rebooted) select any one file and join, all the other parts will be found automatically. To join multiple recordings, mark them in the order they should be joined; within the join dialog, use LEFT and RIGHT to choose the name and description of the joined movie.
There are three ways to join:
- delete parts - all the parts are appended to the first movie, then deleted;
- keep parts - all the parts are appended to the first movie, and preserved;
- new movie - all the parts are copied to a new movie, with "joined" appended to the name.
Thanks Adoxa.
I used this a while ago but not a heavy user but it's good to have the capability. A query about the filename convention Moviejoin expects if I may: does Moviejoin expect a specific filename pattern to be followed?
That is, assuming I record an event that has two or more phases/episodes/sets/games, etc., from LiveTV or HDMI-IN, each file having identical recording specifications, must each file follow a naming pattern or can each have a unique (valid) filename?
I sometimes record an HDMI-IN event that suffers a loss of sound partway through the event. I then rerecord the defective part. I later join the parts on a PC before converting them to mp4 most commonly - sometimes mkv or DVD format.
Also, I assume that inbuilt into the plugin is the Createapsc functionality. I used to install Reconstructapsc but haven't needed to use that in ages and no longer install it.
Thanks, Paul
