I'll try rebooting again (3rd time) tonight. If EPG for 10BOLD still shows <n/a> what's the advice?

You've probably got an old service reference for 10 BOLD in your Favourites bouquet.
At some point, I think TEN changed the service type from SD to HD, thus the name doesn't match the scan table if you've recently rescanned (but prl's picons match to both SD and HD).
Scan again, then FAV, select 10BOLD, GREEN/Add to Favourites, then swap bouquets to Favourites and move 10BOLD to your chosen position.
Hey Geoff

I likely do have old service references in my Favourites bouquet, I recently rescanned for Pete's latest enquiry. I attempted to re-scan again (just now) but still get the "'ERROR: Failed to scan" message. Not seen this one before.

What does OpenWebif's "Box Info" report for tuner usage?

So you ARE recording (tuner A).

Do a manual scan using a different tuner:
Setup>>Tuners>>Manual scan -
Tuner - Tuner B (or C or D)
Type of scan - Complete
System - Auto
Region - Brisbane
GREEN/Scan

Tried the manual scan process and it's worked a few times now. Thanks.

Still have the initial issue "10BOLD description is <n/a>. "

No, all good in both those bouquets. How do I correct Favourites bouquets?

Either -
(i) use the GUI:
Press FAV, CH+/- to switch to either of "Last Scanned" or "Terrestrial TV LCN" bouquets
Select 10 BOLD
GREEN/Add to Favourites
CH+/- to switch back to Favourites bouquet
select "<n/a>" 10 BOLD entry
GREEN/Remove entry
MENU>>GREEN/Enable move mode
select 10 BOLD at end of list, OK to "pickup", move to new position, OK to "drop",
MENU>>GREEN/Disable move mode
EXIT

(ii) use OpenWebif's "BouquetEditor" option:
click the Favourites bouquet entry (top right section)
select "<n/a>" 10 BOLD entry (bottom right section)
click the "TEN" provider (top left section)
select 10 BOLD
click Add selection to bouquet (it should add it prior to the <n/a> entry)
In the Favourites bouquet, re-select "<n/a>" 10 BOLD entry
click Delete
Use the "hamburger" icon to drag 'n drop the new 10 BOLD entry if it's in the wrong spot

I explained that -
Grumpy_Geoff wrote:

At some point, I think TEN changed the service type from SD to HD, thus the name doesn't match the scan table if you've recently rescanned (but prl's picons match to both SD and HD).

To put it another way -
The 10 BOLD service reference for Brisbane used to look like this -
1:0:1:647:604::1014 ("1" as the 3rd segment is 0x01/1/"SD")
On 23-Sep last year, TEN changed the broadcast definition of 10 BOLD from SD to HD (see "10 BOLD moves to High Definition")
The service reference then looks like this -
1:0:19:647:604::1014 ("19" as the 3rd segment is 0x19/25/"HD")
You recently re-scanned for SBS Worldwatch. This brought in the updated "HD" service reference for 10 BOLD.
You favourites bouquet still contained the now non-existent "SD" service reference - thus the name for the service couldn't be found in the DVB scan tables.

Hi Peter

Will the SBS WorldWatch picon be available via the get_picons.sh script?

Have the subsequent changes in the article you linked to taken place yet, i.e. removal of the 7two (SD) service?

Does the new 7two HD channel have a new logo (I can't find one on Logopedia), and what's the broadcast channel name for the new 7twoHD service?

Yep, 72 is now a static image saying 7two is on 73 in HD.
Looks like the logo is the standard 7 with "two" underneath.
My broadcast name is "7twoHD Rockhampton" (1:0:19:943:930:1013:EEEE0000:0:0:0:).

Here is a test version of the picon setup that includes recent changes to remove 7mate and replace it with 7twoHD in regional Queensland. It also contains the changes needed for the picons for SBS WorldWatch.

The install/uninstall instructions assume that you know how to copy files onto your T/U/V series PVR and how to connect to and use its command-line interface.

Making mistakes in doing the install or uninstall may affect the stability of the PVR. If you mess things up, re-install the firmware from USB.

You need to follow the uninstall steps below before doing any online firmware update!

Assuming you're doing this on a T4, copy both attached files to root (/) on the T4, then log in to the T4 and:

Code: Select all

cd /
mv picon picon.bak
mv piconlcd piconlcd.bak
tar xf maskPicons-2022-06-27.tgz
tar xf lcdPicons-2022-06-27.tgz
Then restart the T4 GUI.

If you use xvf instead of xf in the tar commands it will print out the file names as they extract. There will be a lot of them, about 500 for each command. I don't usually bother.

To go back to the original picons, log into the T4 and:

Code: Select all

cd /
rm -r picon maskPicons-2022-06-27.tgz
rm -r piconlcd lcdPicons-2022-06-27.tgz
mv picon.bak picon
mv piconlcd.bak piconlcd
Then restart the T4 GUI.

If you're testing on something other than a T4, leave out all the commands with lcd in them, and don't bother downloading lcdPicons-2022-06-27.tgz and copying it to the box. It doesn't matter if you do change them, but they won't have any effect - they're the picon setup for the T4's OLED graphical front panel.

Please let me know if there are any problems. If nothing's been reported in a few days, I'll push the changes to the picon repository.

Thanks in advance to everyone who tries it out!

Yes. If you’re not affected by the 7twoHD changes, there’s no need to use this version except to check whether the 7twoHD picon changes broke anything.

Seven is continuing adjustments in its regional partners. They've just started broadcasting 7mateHD in Canberra (though it is only a static station announcement at the moment, not actual program content).

They've also renamed PRIME7 Canberra and PRIME7 HD Canberra to 7 Canberra and 7HD Canberra (but their servicerefs and broadcast format remain unchanged). Without corresponding changes in the picon setup these channels will simply continue to show their old PRIME 7 picons.

I don't know whether there are other similar changes in PRIME affiliates.

There's ongoing discussion of this in 7mateHD in Canberra on the IceTV forum (the topic has expanded to include all the recent changes on Seven regional services, not just the 7mateHD changes).

Prime now seems to be simulcasting 7mate content on 7mateHD. There's an IceTV EPG for 7mateHD on Beyonwizes (if you've rescanned so you get 7mateHD), but the Web IceTV program guide only shows 7mateHD, and "Any channel" recordings for 7mate/7mateHD programs set from the Web page still get set as 7mate (not 7mateHD) timers.

There's some more discussion of the current state on the IceTV forum.

I don't see any IceTV EPG for 7mateHD on a T2. They are certainly broadcasting HD content (1920x1080 AVC), and recordings can be set if you really want to from the FTA EPG.

I just rescanned on my test T2 (which I hadn't done since 7mateHD started), and the IceTV EPG for 7mateHD Canberra showed up straight away in the IceTV EPG (without even forcing a full reload of the IceTV EPG). If you use Favourites, of course you'll need to add 7mateHD to your Favourites (and when it's fully supported by IceTV, remove 7mate from Favourites).

You could try forcing a full IceTV EPG reload by disabling IceTV, re-enabling it, and doing a "Fetch EPG and update timers now".

There's no 7mateHD information visible on the IceTV Web or the IceTV app (at least not the iOS one).

It's possible to set timers on 7mateHD from its IceTV EPG on the Beyonwiz (when you manage to get its EPG to load), but it's a bit strange (it shows it as a recording on 7mate on the IceTV Web pages). You'll only be able to set IceTV series timers on 7mateHD when IceTV finishes setting up the channel properly on the server side.

I still do not see any IceTV EPG for 7mateHD after forcing a full IceTV EPG reload. Mind you, I am working on an OpenWebif connection and might possibly see something else if I went and looked on the TV screen.

It doesn't bother me, except for the apparent inconsistency between your experience and mine.

I have tried setting 7TWO on Prime to all in the IceTV channel lineup, still no difference.

Maybe we are talking at cross purposes. I see the channel 7mateHD in both the Beyonwiz on-screen EPG and in OpenWebif. However in both cases they are empty of programs.

It it's any help. the IceTV xmltv feed is also not carrying any EPG data for 7mateHD.

then re-enable it
I'd then restart the GUI

I rescanned and forced a full IceTV EPG load after making the change to the 7TWO on Prime channel lineup. Still no EPG data.

Did all that bar clearing EPG cache first. How do I do that?

I disabled then enabled IceTV then forced redownload of EPG and timers.

First step clears the EPG cache.

I suggested a GUI restart - it always load a full EPG on startup.

I suspect Daniel Hall is still trying to untangle the mess.

Same here. That's why I cannot understand how anyone could see EPG data from Canberra IceTV on 7mateHD.

I don't know why 7mateHD doesn't show in the IceTV Web EPG, but it's certainly there on my test T2:

Maybe we are talking at cross purposes. I see the channel 7mateHD in both the Beyonwiz on-screen EPG and in OpenWebif. However in both cases they are empty of programs.

That's what I've always assumed you meant. However, I see the Beyonwiz on-screen EPG and the Open Webif EPG for 7mateHD filled with data, as above.

I can't see a reason why the 7mateHD EPG data can't be there in the database, included in the Beyonwiz PVR feeds, but not be displayed in the Web EPG. I assume that that has a common cause with the fact that 7mateHD is not displayed on the IceTV Web pages in My Account>Guide Settings.

On the IceTV forum, Colin (MD) has said that Daniel Hall was away last week, and will be getting back on the changes when he gets back.

Weird.

Just for completeness this is what I am seeing right now.

Just a thought: do you have channel 64 (beside 7TWO on Prime) enabled in My Account>Guide Settings? It's enabled in my settings, and that's the LCN that 7mateHD is now on.

As advised previously I have had ALL selected beside 7TWO on Prime in My Account>Guide Settings, but even if I specifically select channel 64 (and save) then go through the process of disabling, enabling and redownloading the IceTV data, then a GUI restart for good measure, I still only see a blank line in the Guide for 7mateHD.

Sorry, I'd forgotten the bit where you said you had all 7TWO channels enabled.

I'm completely out of ideas now.

Looks like the difference was due to what is selected against 7mate in My Account>Guide Settings. I had channel 63 selected, but if one selects ALL then the EPG for 7mateHD is populated with the same data as for channel 63.

That's not what I'd have expected! My 7mate setting was for "All", so that seems to be why I had no problems getting the 7mateHD EPG.

Still no 7mateHD EPG on the IceTV Web, though.

Does anyone know whether7mateHD is being added to any other Prime transmitters in NSW/ACT apart from Canberra?

The FreeTV register of service information doesn't help. It dates from Sep 2021.

Thanks. Looks like I should extend the updates to the picon setup beyond Canberra.
