Hi,
prl wrote:From its Wikipedia entry, it appears that 7flix will launch on the Sunshine Coast as well as the state capitals (other than Hobart). The entry for Ten HD only mentions Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, but dRdoS7's Geelong data also has Ten HD in it.
Geelong is a re-transmission of Melbourne.

I have submitted the TEN HD and 7flix picon data for Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Melbourne, Perth, Sunshine Coast and Sydney to the repository.

I don't have the required data for some regionals (e.g. some of the STQ stations in Queensland) that will be getting 7flix. Data for that may filter through later when I start getting updates for WIN HD.

While a number of posts that contain data for picon setup for new channels were lost in the forum outage yesterday Mon 6 Mar, I have copies of all that data on my computer, so none of that data was lost, and there's no need to repost :)

The recent online beta releases contain all the picon updates for the recent changes in Ten, Seven, STQ and NBN.

Today I intend to submit the data I've collected for WIN so far. Any further updates or new data sets for regions that aren't yet covered will, of course, be accepted and be submitted to the picon repository, but they may not make the next release.

The current state of the region picon updates is:

The "state of play" for updates is:

I have up-to-date data for:
Adelaide
Bendigo
Brisbane
Canberra
Central Coast
Geelong
Gold Coast
Hobart
Melbourne
Newcastle
Northern Rivers NSW
Orange
Perth
SpencerGulfSA
Sunshine Coast
Sydney
Toowoomba
Townsville
Warrnambool
Wide Bay

I still don't have up-to-date data for:
Albany WA
Ballarat
Launceston
Wollongong

The update is now available.

It adds picons to the newly-rearranged WIN services in the locations I received data for, has long-awaited updates for Wide Bay and Bendigo and adds Townsville to the list of areas that have picon data.

All Picons look great for the Sunshine Coast - thanks prl.

Includes all new WIN stuff plus Bris and local 7flix (76 & 66) and Bris 10HD (13) - All receivable on Sunshine Coast.

Great work.

Do USB updates over write settings? I have a T2 (disk less) set up to use my T4 disc. If I do a back up on T2 it appears to overwrite my T4 backup.

Yes, it is likely that the backup location is the same as your T4's backup location if you are sharing the same harddisk.

You can customise the backup location directory by going into your T2's plugins browser, and selecting the Software manager (from memory). from there, the destination directory for backups can be customised (I think from the "Advanced" section).

You can either create a new folder on the T4's harddisk, or backup your settings to USB.

And yes, USB updates will overwrite your settings. You will need to manually restore the settings following the upgrade (the initial setup wizard will not let you do it).

This is why it is a fairly good idea to have some sort of storage, however small, installed in the T2. A small SSD (120GB) for around $60 makes for a good drive to store settings backups, 3rd party plugins and patches, and also act as a local timeshift device.

That's awesome thanks! I was just on the phone to Beyonwiz to work out how to change Backup location, shame I didn't read your post properly first. Anyway had them stumped and suggestion was to ask here. I'm just about to update both boxes to beta firmware now,

Thanks for all of your assistance. I've learnt more again today :)

Hi Trial_Master,

Have you checked the icons against the channels in the "Terrestrial TV LCN" bouquet? If they are not correct there then you should rescan your channels and test again.

Ian.

Hi Trial_Master,

Try a manual scan for each of the problem broadcasters and enable the "Clear before scan" option. See if that helps.

If you're still on the January beta then you haven't had any online updates - see Switching your software feed to a live beta
The picon updates are in the 7-Mar beta

What firmware version? The new picon setup is only in recent beta updates. The most recent update is 2016-03-07 11:59.
7flix and TEN HD links should definitely be there for Brisbane. These updates are not in the 20160125 beta firmware firmware, but in an online update from that firmware. To get beta online updates you need to follow the instructions in Switching your software feed to a live beta. When you've done the steps in those instructions, reboot or restart the GUI and wait for it to do the automatic scan for updates (or do MENU>Setup>Software manager>Check for updates now) Reloading beta firmware from USB turns off the live beta update feed.

If you were already running the 2016-03-07 11:59 beta, or updating doesn't get the new picons:

In live TV change service to 7flix, then MENU>Settings>Information>Service. The bottom line of the screen should be "Service reference" with a string of colon-separated hex and decimal numbers. What is it?

Then the same for TEN HD.

Hi Peter. I installed the January beta via USB today and didn't realise there was the additional process for a live beta stream. My silly.

I have the T4 working fine with new icons now and am about to do same with T2.

Been a big day of learning but I've really enjoyed it. Thanks for the new icons looks much better now.

There was more changed in the recent betas than just the picons, so it's about the stability of those changes as well as any problems with the picon data. So far there's been one bug found and fixed in the recent code changes, and no problems found in the picons (other than problems due to re-scanning for some of the channel changes being more complicated than usual).

Hi Pri

Latest picon update all good with one exception, there was no Channel 10 HD picon in the download for the Gold Coast area.

If needs-be I can just do a scan for channel 10 network for the Gold Coast area and post to you.
Thanks.

There is a picon link for Ten HD in the Gold Coast data I have, but is the same serviceref as for Brisbane. I'm not sure whether that is correct.
Sir Lancelot wrote:If needs-be I can just do a scan for channel 10 network for the Gold Coast area and post to you.
I'd prefer a complete scan rather than just Ten, because then I'm sure I have everything up-to-date.

But before you do that, could you check the servicerefs you have for Ten channels?

In live TV, change channels to Ten Digital (not HD), then go to MENU>Setup>Information>Service. What is the displayed Service reference at the bottom of the list in the screen?

Then do the same for Ten HD, and post the servicerefs and the corresponding names.

Just as an aside, when you scanned for Ten HD, did you get any duplicates (LCNs >= 350) in Terrestrial TV LCN? If there are, the problem may be caused by how the scan was done, rather than with the picon setup.

Hi Pri

Thanks for your reply.
I checked the service refs as you suggested and found them to be different.
Then I checked for duplicate LCN's in the Terrestrial TV LCN, found that I had used a channel 10 in my bouquet, and surprisingly it came up as a high definition picture, just the same as channel 13.
Deleted channel 10 Ten from my bouquet and added channel 13 to it. Works perfectly with exactly the same quality picture (1920x1080i 50Hz) complete with the 10HD picon.
Thanks again Pri, your comment about looking in the Terrstrial LCN gave me the clue.

Your help to a 77 year old is much appreciated.

Lance

Where in OpenWebif? I just tried OpenWebif Main>Television>Current while tuned to WIN HD, WIN LIFE and SBS NITV in Canberra (2 new channels and 1 new picon for an older channel) and all the picons there are OK, so I assume it ultimately gets the picons from the same place as the PVR does, /picon.

Sorry I should have included TV Multi EPG is where I was looking. But if I use current and go to NITV, I still get the old logo and go to EPG under Television still has the same problem.

I just get an OpenWebif icon for any that are missing.

Could be a browser caching problem. Try forcing a refresh of the pages that have the wrong/missing picons, or if that doesn't work, try clearing the browser cache.

I also see all the up-to-date picons in OpenWebif TV Multi EPG.

Thanks Peter but doesn't look like that is the problem/solution.

Did a cache clear to no effect and even used the Edge browser which I never use and it has the same icons missing.

Any other ideas?

Any one else seeing this?
Cheers
