As expected, it's fine on the U4 -

9Rush_infobar_picon.png

I can't check the picon display on the T4 as the front panel is dead (it's yet to have a visit to Doc. Warkus' surgery).

Please let me know if there are any problems. If nothing's been reported in a few days, I'll push the changes to the picon repository.

Appears to work fine in the infobar/favourites/EPG/LCD here in Sydney/T4. Nothing else appears to have been broken either, which is always a bonus. :D

I've also attached a full scan of Sydney made a few hours ago.

Thanks!

Thanks, Steve.

I've grabbed the scan file.

If anyone else in the areas getting 9Rush would like to post a scan file, I'm happy to use them, but it looks like I won't need them for this change.

If no-one yells at me about problems with the 9Rush picon setup before tomorrow PM (Fri 3 Apr), I'll push the changes into the picon repository ready for distribution.

I have committed the 9Rush changes to the picon repository. I've also incorporated new scan data for Brisbane, Perth and Sydney into the repository. That new scan information and some improvements to the scripts that build the picon setup has allowed the removal of a few redundant picon links, and the picon setup for the now-defunct WestTV in Perth.

The new picon setup should be in the next firmware release.

If you applied my alpha patch with the 9Rush changes, remember to uninstall it before doing any online update!

I'm using a T2 in Adelaide with latest firmware and have all picons except for:

74 7MateHD
96 9Rush

The T2's updater reports "nothing to update".

Is there anything I can do?

edit: these are the ones:

Code: Select all

<e2service>

Either install IanSav's feed that includes his OverlayHD skin and picon set, or you can install the latest 19.3 series beta firmware, and switch to the beta update feed.

An alternative is the package retrieval method without requiring the plugin or beta firmware -
"How to directly fetch the picons-tv-australia package from IanSav's feed server and then install it"

The build system automatically picks up the most up to date version of picons that prl has pushed to the master branch of the Bitbucket repository. From what I see, the last update was a merge on 2020‑04‑05 and includes the commit "Update Brisbane, Perth & Sydney" from two days earlier.

There appear to be no updates to picons since then.

Crosschecking the package version information against the git commit hash confirms that the latest available version is included in the USB image and in the feed.

Sorry, I grabbed your scan file, but then I'm afraid that it got parked and forgotten.

I've now merged that scan data into my picon setup data, but it actually makes no practical difference to the picon setup for Spencer Gulf/Port Pirie, so I haven't merged it into the picon repository.

Could you be specific about what issues you're having with the Spencer Gulf picons?

I think the links to the picons for (at least) these Port Pirie service references are missing -
7HD Port Pirie - 1:0:19:9E6:906:1017
9HD Port Pirie - 1:0:19:7C1:701:1017
10HD Port Pirie - 1:0:19:8DD:81D:1017
7 Port Pirie - 1:0:1:9C6:906:1017 / LCN61
9 Port Pirie - 1:0:1:7A1:701:1017 / LCN81
10 Port Pirie - 1:0:1:8BD:81D:1017 / LCN51

Code: Select all

root@beyonwizu4:/picon# ls -l *9E6* *7C1* *8DD* *9C6* *7A1* *8BD*

OK, found the problem. I was using 'git status -uno' (only show modified, files, not ones in the source, but not in therepository) to see the repository changes and that excluded the links need for Spencer Gulf.

Getting the commit ready now.

10 Shake is due to launch soon, so perhaps after that's included into the repository IanSav will ask one of his o/s buddies to build the picons package for hosting on his feed server, thus then being available to load via his update plugin, or alternatively fetched and loaded manually as FAQ'ed on this forum.

Does anyone know when, exactly? I just googled it and all the items seemed to come from the same Ten presser, and none was more specific that "September".

Hi,

Given the financial issues at Network 10 including the firing of so many of their people perhaps the new service may be on shaky ground. (Though I expect that another channel will mean more advertising revenue. ;) )

Prl's picons are automatically built and packaged soon after he updates the repository. I can load the updates on my feed server when required.

Regards,
Ian.

The SHAKE has happened in Perth.

10 HD is now on two SIDs -
681 (was BOLD, so we need a picon assignment please)

Thanks Grumpy_Geoff, Trial Master & IanSav. I'll try to get the new picon setup done ASAP.

But I need to get Sydney scan data before I'll be able to commit the changes to the repository.

From what Ian has told me elsewhere, the Ten changes don't simply mean that there is no picon for 10Shake: some picons in the current setup will be applied to the wrong channels.

Here's Sydney.

You've a couple of weird service entries there from the Nine network -

Code: Select all

		<e2servicereference>1:0:1:301:420:1012:EEEE0000:0:0:0:</e2servicereference>
		<e2servicename>564500 SID 0x301</e2servicename>

and -

Code: Select all

		<e2servicereference>1:0:FF:303:420:1012:EEEE0000:0:0:0:</e2servicereference>
		<e2servicename>564500 SID 0x303</e2servicename>
(plus a bit of Java script junk at the end of the get services result

Ah, well then I'm at the limit of my knowledge. Might need someone else to stump up the Sydney info.

prl may be able to cut them out without too much effort.

Do the strange service names show up in the Terrestrial TV LCN bouquet (or the Nine provider list)?
The SIDs (if taken stand-alone) belong to SBS ONE (301) and SBS VICELAND HD (303).

It looked OK on the TV but something was odd if I looked in OpenWebif (although I didn't make notes...). I have now done a rescan and it looks OK (I think).

Yes, 59 services listed is what I'd expect for a mainland capital.
You've still screen-scraped that java script somehow, so prl will need to trim the crud.

Just in case tyreless's scan doesn't work out, here's Sydney's scan from just now.

I see the Shake trailer loop is being broadcast at 704x576, presumably that'll be fixed to 720x576 when they go live. The quality looks pretty awful too, both technically and content. Pretty sure it won't make my favourites bouquet...

They're not in the second scan data that tyreless sent, though it still has the Javascript <script/> element in it. I'm not sure how that got there. I've never seen it in any other scan data that I've been sent.
