New Samsung TV - Smart remote

Post by Cf1@tpg.com.au » Tue Mar 31, 2020 14:40

Hi everyone, anyone have any idea on if its possible to control a T4 unit with a Samsung TV smart remote. When I select the input source to be foxtel the remote functions like a foxtel remote. I want to be able to do the same with the beyonwiz but the TV didn't automatically recognise the T$ like it did the foxtel box. Any ideas ?

The answer to this question is almost the same as the answer to your question: Control V2 & TV from a single remote.

About the only difference is that the T4 can respond to a variety of remote codes that the TV remote probably also can't emit.

You can try enabling HDMI CEC in the T4 setup menu. This is presumably the protocol you are currently using to control the Foxtel box using the Samsung remote.

CEC is notoriously unreliable, particularly on complex setups, so your mileage and success with this might vary.

Most people with more than the most basic setup generally have more success with a good third party universal remote.

+1 (but I've said it before in the other topic).

Did anybody get this working? I also have a new Samsung TV, and my T4 remote is just about cactus (stops working intermittently). Would be great to be able to channel change, and open recordings and navigate them with the Samsung Remote.
