Available GBs incorrect

I have a T2 with 1000GB disk size. I currently have circa 200 files at circa 1500MB each. My available disk size is showing as 19GB. Now 200 x 1500 does not equal 1000GB. My trash is empty, I empty this every time I delete a recording. Is it possible the deleted files are being 'stored' somewhere? I have no other directories in use or with any stored files (that I can see). so I should have circa 600GB available not 19GB. I am only using the internal HDD. Any ideas? thanks.
