Adding chapters with ProjectX
Adding chapters with ProjectX
I'm looking for a free way to add chapter markers (custom points) to a file that will ultimately end up as an MP4. I thought I could do this using ProjectX at the TS file stage, but after adding chapter markers the cleaned TS file from ProjectX doesn't show any of them.
HAve tried both TS and PDIFilter outputs to no avail.
HAs anyone done this successfully? I can't see an obvious setting to change in the ProjectX settings. I can save a .XCP file of the chapter markets from ProjectX, but haven't figured out where this would be useful (no option for xcp addition in vidcoder).

ProjectX merely writes a text file with the chapter points. It is then up to you to transcribe those points into your authoring program. So ProjectX doesn't "write" the chapter points into the actual video. Sorry to deliver the bad news..

Sorry again but I haven't found a program that will use the figures it produces.
This is an example with just 3 chapters
CollectionPanel.CutMode=3
1504657176
1512865176
1513556376
So I don't know what what it is measuring? Seems to me the best way is to just take manual timings.

Basically no - if I make a DVD I use ConvertXtoDVD which adds chapters every x minutes (user defined) I mostly make MKV files and as I don't have a storage problem leave them uncompressed. A sad note I no longer use the BW to play external files. The Popcorn C200 has taken over that task. I would suggest you go to videohelp.com and take a look at their tools and guides - it's a good resource ...
