Access Error

Post by Dann » Sun Apr 15, 2012 13:08

I recorded some shows last night and I know they were recording as I did check,BUT, this morning when I went to play them a window comes up stating Error access Media File not Found - why is it so? That was for each programme even though this morning I programmed Insidsers and it was done and i did not find out till later about the problem. Is it possible to find them? help? This the first time this has happened.
The times, dates and length of programming are correct
.
I have a Beyonwiz FV- L1 twintuner.

Thanks for reading this

Hi, Dann. Have you tried re-indexing the recordings? If not, go into the FilePlayer, and then select and click OK on the HDD entry in the side bar so that you go into the recording selection view, and see the Recordings/Content/Trashcan folders. Then press the SOUNDTRACK button on the remote (bottom right of the remote with a speaker/question mark icon on the button). You should get a popup saying that it's re-indexing. When that completes and the popup goes away, try playing the recording again.

I done as was stated, but, I still cannot get a good result as where there were titles of the shows is these results :SBS_TW~4,TVW FSCK oooo.REN SC10_N~1.TVW
AB2_ _~1.TVW Which ,to me make no sense and and naturally will not play.
Thanks for the input

Sounds like the recordings area got into a bit of a mess. Are all the recordings like that, or do some look (and play) OK? Could you have had a power outage while you were recording? The 0000.REN files usually only turn up after the Beyonwiz has tried to repair the HDD after a sudden failure (system crash or power outage).

Probably the only way to fix this up without hacking the firmware is to copy everything off that you can access (and want to keep) to a USB HDD or a network share, and then reformatting the HDD.

It's a FV-L1 Peter so the only option other than losing them might be removing the drive to access it on a PC. Though that would need Linux to let it be read.

I missed the type.

Yes, Linux or OS X to read the drive after it's been removed.
