A PM to me Re Most suitable Movie Format

Post by netmask » Wed Feb 22, 2012 15:40

I received a PM regarding the above - my reply was avi, mp4 and referred to http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MkvToMp4 as a good conversion program for MKV's that won't play on the BW. For the record I prefer all discussions to be in open forum and in future I won't respond to PM questions unless it's been posted here first and there is some personal, private or clarification that *really* needs to be private.

However you can still have problems with avi's that are packed and mp4 files with odd encoding. MKV's that have a Format profile L4.1 or lower and don't have chapters or subtitles should play.
