I use an Avidemux crop filter for 4:3 recordings to get rid of the black borders (I might investigate to see if it can automatically detect them).
I used to use autogk (and noticed the automatic removal of the black borders) but I found it much quicker with avidemux:
With autogk I had to mux the demuxed file from projectx with another program like ImagoMPEG-Muxer. Then I noticed that the first thing autogk did was demux it again!
With avidemux I can just directly use the .m2v and .mp2 files from projectx.

Anyway from my WizZilla suggestion to run an external program after downloading I don't mind if I have to batch all my 4:3 shows in one night and 16:9 shows another night. It would be ok if per show I manually could specify either a different program to run or the same program with a different parameter.
If you are going to add a post download command option it might be worthwhile taking a look at the flexible approach WebScheduler (now called TVscheduler) provides for running post-processing commands.

Basically you pre-define as many different commands as you need with each command having a defined set of symbolic or fixed parameters passed to it. The symbolic parms would be things like full path, folder path, filename (with or without extension), etc.

When setting up the download you specify which (if any) pre-defined command to use when that download completes.

I'm getting an error trying to delete a file from my H1 with Wizzilla. I record all Seinfeld episodes, then would like to delete the duplicates from the PC.

Error reads: Invalid List Operation: at line 1645
Event: DELNOWMENU - Dialog: 0

Any ideas?

Cheers

Pretty sure that's a bug.
I need to check if delete was enabled in that release.

IP ADDRESS RANGES - WIZZILLA

Post by MolemanJake » Thu May 27, 2010 08:28

I was wondering if it was possible to change the IP address range that has been programmed in to WizZilla. I am in an environment where we have 4 Beyonwiz DP-P2's on a firewalled subnet that is on public IP addresses. On trying to put in the required IP address and connect WizZilla crashes. It will only allow 192.168, 10.0.0 or 172.16-172.31 addresses.

Thanks in advance.

Some more information about the crash (behaviour, error messages, etc) might be useful. "It crashes" doesn't convey much information.

There should be nothing in the underlying getWizPnP program that handles communication with the Beyonwiz for WizZilla that restricts the IP address you use. Anyway, getWizxPnP (and WizZilla) should be able to discover the IP address of any Beyonwizes on the same subnet (strictly everything that's reachable with a multicast TTL=1).

Hi Jake(?)
Thanks for trying WizZilla.
Yes it's possible, please understand it was setup to check for private address ranges as that's the most common scenario, prl's getWizPnP isn't restrictive so it will work ok from the command line with public addresses.
It's not common for people to use public addresses (and I understand it's firewalled) for beyonwizes, but not unreasonable.
If I can comment out all the address checking (doesn't look like too much), I'll PM you something you can try when I get a chance.

Hi Wizards..
Is it possible to keep the episode title (subtitle) in the saved filename when transferring a file from the Wiz to the pc?
The subtitle is there when you "save as" plus when transferring to the pc, but the saved file just has the episode name and the recorded date.
eg. "Lie to Me - Fold Equity 2010-05-26" is saved on the pc as "Lie to Me - Wed May 2010" (saved as a ts file).
Or is there a setting I have missed.
PC is running Windows 7.

Cheers

getWizPnP, which does the file transfer for WizZilla, can certainly do this (-e or --episode flag), but perhaps there's a problem with WizZilla not setting the flag (or maybe it takes an entirely different approach). getWizPnP has a pretty general format string method of recording naming (--episode is just a shortcut to change the format string).

alwayslooking that would be awesome. WizZilla looks really good and it would be great if I could get it to work. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. WizZilla would be great for our configuration.
I forgot to mention that we are on a different public subnet from the DP-P2's prl.
Some more information about the crash (behaviour, error messages, etc) might be useful. "It crashes" doesn't convey much information.
The error is

List index out of range: at line 847

Event: CONNECTBUTTON - Dialog: 0

Click OK and WizZilla shuts down. I didn't mention much in the way of detail because I thought you would have experienced this problem during testing. You can reproduce it with just about any address that isn't within the IP addresses listed by the preceeding dialog box which says

Wiz IP is not a valid private IP address!

OK, then that won't work, then. I wonder whether I should make TTL command-line configurable in getWizPnP?

parts of Wizzilla detected as a virus by Comodo....

Post by walkerz » Sun Jun 13, 2010 20:32

HI Wizards and community.....

First of all, love Wizzilla, great work!

Found over the last couple of days that Comodo Antivirus appears to be detecting a couple of component files of Wizzilla (I think) as viruses

The files are;
String53.dll modified 5 March 2003, version 5.3.0.0
timedate.dll modified 26 Aug 2005, version 1.8.0.0
vdsconsole.dll modified 30 July 2000, version 1.7.30.2000

all of which appear to be from Visual DialogScript (http://www.dialogscript.com/) which is what I am assuming Wizzilla is written in?

They are all in C:\Windows\System32, and Comodo reports they contain 'threat name' Huer.Packed.Unknown@-1

I am assuming it's a false-positive, as Symantec Enterprise Protection on another PC does not object to them, and the Kaspersky online file scanner says they are clean.

If I let Comodo delete/quarantine them, of course Wizzilla doesn't work.

It's Comodo Internet Security, V4.1.150319.920, AV Signature v5084 if that's of any use/interest

Am I barking up the wrong tree, or have Comodo been a bit too enthusiastic?

Any one else seen anything similar?

Cheers!

Stuart

(Oh, would also love to see the naming quirk mention previously fixed up, as getWizpnp makes my head hurt.. :( )

Settings.exe

Post by quorum » Tue Jun 22, 2010 19:46

Hi

I'm new to WizZilla. It looks pretty good and detected my P2 easily, but I get settings.exe is missing! error. I had a look in the installation folder and couldn't find it, re downloaded the setup file and reinstalled but still missing.

I've seen a couple of other mentions of this in the forum, but as yet no response. Is this normal or is my installation missing something?

Same with installation - I don't think it has been written yet. I'm missing a few station icons as well. But it works well..

Just wanted to add my thanks for this nifty tool. Used it for the first time last night and all went well with both my Wizes.
Look forward to any future updates.

Comodo is reporting false positives (it's even accusing Adobe Reader updates and Glary Utilites as being infected). The Comodo forums and the Internet are full of posts by people complaining about it. Saying that many innocent dll files are infected with "Huer.Packed.Unknown" is like saying that most zip files in existence are infected with 'Zip.Packed.Unknown' just because they were compressed with WinZip. It looks like Comodo are claiming that every dynamic link library (.dll) file that was written in Delphi 5 is infected due to some idiot using Delphi 5 to write 1 piece of malware..

I am still on firmware 320 but all of a sudden I am getting an error when I try to transfer a file using Wizzilla (version 1.1.0.60)

The message reads
Non numeric value in arithmetic functions at line 1451
Eventfileistdbclick - dialog 0

I have tried different files and then uninstalled and reinstalled the program with the same result....

Thoughts?

A few other observations but subsequent testing didn't improve or change anything
1. The description of the 7pm news and 7:30 Report all gave the info about the 6:30 program a gardening program. Reindexed all the files and cleared the epg cache - still wrong descriptions but had no bearing on Wizzilla - DST is correct and only ABC1 has this epg oddity - a known bug for 320 I believe
2. Checked the log file and emailed it to you but it doesn't report the error
3. Log level is 2 can it be set for more details ie verbose?
WizFx works without any difficult.

Yes. It may even be in 334... The Beyonwiz is displaying the description from the last program that had a description. It should show "No Event Information Available".

You can set the log level to 5 in the settings ini file.

Maybe Wizzilla doesn't like empty descriptions in a file's epg data.

In WinXP it's in:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Two Wizards\WizZilla 1.0

1. Replace <user> with your Windows username.
2. Edit the path to suit if using Vista or 7

Have the Two Wizards sold out to DPG? (but then prl should know since his getwizpnp is at the core of WizZilla)

Hi Glow,

Nothing that clandestine. :) However, it is not appropriate for me to explain.

Regards,
Ian.

Hmmm. Odd. I can think of reasons why they would use getWizPnP, but not why they'd use WizZilla over WizFX.

From a consumer non tech person a GUI interface is going to win over CLI especially since graphical interfaces with gestures are becoming the norm. Maybe that's part of the reason?

Perhaps Wiz Support is beta testing a new version of WizZilla? :)

? My puzzlement is over why they would use WizZilla over WizFX, both are GUI. The reasons to use getWizPnP are for some of its capabilities, like the ability to display the contents of the trunc header file, that I don't think are accessible via WizZilla. Geeky stuff where CLI vs GUI isn't as important as capability.

WizFX only shows the program name. WizZilla shows the program description / episode information.

Wizilla Menu Options Greyed Out

Post by alfons » Mon Oct 18, 2010 08:53

Hi,
Just discoverd Wizilla and love it!

It is quite possible that this question has been asked many times before...but, are the greyed out menu options greyed out because they have not been implemented yet?

There are lots of things we'd like to do, especially some that involve utilising the extra features in get prl's getWizPnP.

At the moment we are working on updating WZ to run with the latest getWizPnP as well as some bug fixes.

Thanks for using WZ.
You are correct, those menu options are greyed out currently because the features weren't complete at the time of release.

1st time WizZilla 1.1.0.60 user here - nice looking UI, much better than WizFX.

It gives me all the info about what recordings i have on my wiz, episode info etc. There's just one problem tho, I can't use it to transfer files from my wiz. I select a file to download, hit the download button or choose queue for download and nothing happens from there onwards.

[The buttons near the bottom of the window, play, pause, stop up and down are all greyed out and so can't be used - edit, these functions probably not implemented yet?]

Also when i hit the settings button i get a message saying 'settings.exe is missing!' I guess this is where i'd set download path etc which i can't do as yet - probably why i can't download any files at a guess. Am i missing something somewhere along the way?

system - windows7, microsoft security essentials
DP-P2 320gb version now running with a (edit 500gb) 1 TB HDD - yep, 3rd HDD lol. Plus another P2 running a 1TB PVR rated HDD. Plus a 320gb Dealspace FL-V1 running DP-P1 firmware.

Hi Dddp,

As has been posted in this forum a number of times, this area of the program is not yet complete and has not been enabled for pubic use.

General Comment - Not aimed specifically at Dddp:
A simple search string of "settings.exe missing" with search for all terms and show the results as posts with all characters provided gave me all the information I needed within the first few results. People really should try searching for answers before posting questions. The forum is becoming so diluted with repeats of the same sort of questions being asked again and again that searches now tend to hit the question far more frequently and the actual answer is being pushed way down the results list.

The people who don't search and just ask are actually making life very much more difficult for *all* those who come later. What is particularly frustrating is that all the extra noise in the forum makes it harder for those people who do genuinely try to help themselves by searching for their answers first.

Regards,
Ian.

I think you should just grin and bear it, I am a forum junky, and it is no different on any forum. New posters don't read stickies and don't search, and often the search defaults leave a lot to be desired (like these Wiz forums hehe). Even I struggle to find something I know is on the forum sometimes...(e.g silly search restrictions that won't let you search for small words, sometimes what you are looking for is a TLA).

I think the solution to repeated questions is giving terse answers, and saying the more detailed answer can be found in a search, then you will be seen as helpful instead of the angry old man ;-).
Regards
Tony
