These already play if renamed to .MP4 - see thread AVCHD Working!!
These types of files are now common with HD camcorders.
Added as W7(f).

No more firmware updates?

Post by awoods » Fri Dec 02, 2011 19:16

It's now been 12 months since the last firmware update from Beyonwiz - on any of the DP machines as far as I can tell.
Is that the end of the line? :(

No more firmware updates? + minor bugs

Post by awoods » Fri Dec 02, 2011 21:16

Hi Ian,
Thanks for the post. How joyously cryptic of you. :D
I presume you mean this thread:
http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/phpbb2/viewt ... highlight=

Back on the original thread topic, here are some minor bugs which I've noticed:
1. (S1 only) on CD audio playback, particularly on CDs which have a smooth flow of music from one track to another, the S1 inserts a momentary silence between tracks, AND also seems to truncate the end of every track by a fraction on a second.
2. (S1 only) on CD audio playback, the first track seems to play back at a different audio level to the second and subsequent audio tracks.

Has anyone else noticed these issues?

Cheers!

That is one of the places this topic has been covered. :)

I don't believe I have noticed these issues. Perhaps you should give us a CD title and disc information so that any others with the same CD available can test it out.

Ian.

Any sign of a new firmware update that fixes the bugs?

Post by steveb » Sun Jan 08, 2012 17:03

Have been finding the bug "(a) when simultaneously recording two instances of the same program (e.g. 7 and 71), manually stopping one of these recordings causes corruption in the other. " particularly frustrating. Corrupted the wifes recording of Hogfather the other night by stopping a recording of the news.

Any sign of a firmware upgrade / bug fix? Seems to have been very quietthe last 10 months...

Hi Steveb,

I am not sure if this can ever be fixed. Those channels use some of the same PIDs which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to individually track those channels as separate entities.

I was told that new firmware updates are on hold until the next generation of Beyonwiz products are released to the market.

Regards,
Ian.

Sorry for the delay, I finally got around to testing these issues. I can confirm issue 1 above, now added as bug B4(b). Although I consider the truncation (skipping) and the momentary pause to be one and the same thing, so I have only mentioned the truncation in the bug report.

During my brief testing, I did not notice your issue 2. You didn't specify the difference - do you believe the first track is played louder or softer than subsequent tracks?

Are these store bought CDs or burned by the owner?
Some burning programs introduce this 'gap'.

I tested two store-bought CDs with seamless music between tracks.

Hi Jawbraeka,

There is nothing under beta test at this time so it is unlikely that there will be any updates in the immediate future.

Ian.

Observation....

The last update was released in Dec 2010, there are no betas in the pipeline, I would say the Beyonwiz units are well and truely end of life.

Have they sacked all their developers? Is Beyonwiz financially viable?

Hi Pellajl,

I assume your questions are rhetorical as only Beyonwiz staff could offer any sort of answer. I suspect that even if Beyonwiz staff did answer I doubt they would address those questions. :)

Ian.

The Beyonwiz VIP Footy Finals special offer I got today wasn't even for a Beyonwiz product. It was for a Digitel TV.

Hi Peter,

Either we are suffering another database corruption issue in this forum or your post is *way* off topic! ;)

WizPNP Client Index Buffer Size Limitation

Post by Trekhead » Fri Jan 31, 2014 09:59

Can we add the bug that I identified in the following post to the bug list:

http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/phpbb2/viewt ... c&start=60

Specifically increasing the WizPNP client index buffer size from 64kB to 128kB.

This will ensure consistency with the WizPNP server index buffer size which is also 128kB.

Thus resolving the issue which prevents a Beyonwiz from being visible to another Beyonwiz when an the file "Index.txt" exceeds 64kB. This threshold can presently be exceeded with approximately 500 recordings and only 800GB HDD space utilised. Or effectively only 44% of the HDD capacity of a Beyonwiz DP-P2 2TB being utilised.

The issue associated with a Beyonwiz suddenly becoming invisible to another networked Beyonwiz has been reported in a number of other posts. So clearly this bug / limitation is affecting a number of Beyonwiz users.
