DP-P1 HDMI output fail

Post by Tramperb » Wed Aug 04, 2021 19:57

Hi,

Hoping someone has a suggestion (other than 'in the bin') on recovery of my DP-P1, that has been faultless for a decade.

We had a power transient (enough to require a microwave clock reset but didn't noticably flick the LED lights). Beforehand, DP-P1 was working as normal. Afterwards, TV screen was black then restarted and displayed 'hdmi1 no signal'. I restarted the TV (which is working fine) and the DP-P1 but no improvement. Changed the TV input to HDMI2 but no improvement.

The DP-P1 starts as normal : power on, hard drive starts up; welcome, loading, 01.05.350 (firmware), start, P-HDMI AUTO, P-C-576I then the selected channel. Operation, as far as I can tell, is normal (ie changing channels). When shutting down; Standby then the time (which It's keeping accurately).

In short, everything completely normal except there is no HDMI output.

Any suggestions?

Try the component output if your TV has a matching input.

Yep, thanks GG - found the appropriate cables this morning and hooked it up with a component connection - works as expected.

So, it would seem, everything on the DP-P1 is good except the HDMI output. Is this likely to be repairable? ie hdmi icu? and some motherboard soldering? (done by someone with more skill than me: ) Would such components even be available?
