Dead DP-P2
Dead DP-P2
I suspect my old DP-P2 has finally died.
No response from the front power button
BUT
Power supply is OK - 32V on the main board
Network is OK - responds to ping
HDMI is handshake looks OK - but no signal is being sent - Just mute video "silence"
HD is OK - but clearly the OS is not here - must be on flash memory somewhere.
No obvious failed components on the main board.
SO
Is that it, or am I missing something simple, common Cap blown, Main front power button failed??
Let me know if this is a common fail and if there is a simple fix.
On a second look, I did find a doubtful looking 3300 uF capacitor on the PSU, which I've now replaced.
I have also tested all (and there are many) voltage regulators on the main board and they are all outputting the correct voltages.
I could replace all the parts, as outlined in the excellent PSU repair guide available on this forum - but I'm not convinced that this actually a PSU issue.
I see what looks like correct power everywhere - but no response when I turn it on, not even the blue Beyonwiz front light.
Does anyone out there have any ideas as to what other common, non PSU, DP-P2 issues may be out there causing the failure I am describing above?
Cheers

Re: Dead DP-P2
On my P2 Warkus replaced a lot of the general-purpose caps on the mainboard but mine was responding to the power button.
Time for a V2 I suspect. I no longer use mine as it can't handle the audio for some TV channels.

Re: Dead DP-P2
Thanks Paul_oz53
I have already purchased a V2 and also have a T4 that I have recently fixed (dead 3V3 regulator).
Don't intend to use the DP-P2, just interested in fixing it for - well I don't know why?
At least being older, with many through hole components, it may be useful for harvesting parts.
Cheers
