WizZilla versus AVG

Post by celicasx » Fri Sep 24, 2010 17:00

FYI - version 1.1.0.60 of WizZilla is reporting in AVG as a "Trojan Horse Downloader.Generic10.UEA". You'll need to exclude the WizZilla directory from AVG's scans if you want it to continue to work.

Regards
Rob
I love my Toppy, but now I want one of these! Scratch that... now I've got one!

Same here. AVG updated tonight and immediately tried to vault WizZilla.

I think from memory there is a way to inform AVG of false positives but I couldn't find the link. I put an exception into Resident Shield to bury the problem.

In case AVG detects some file on your PC as infected, this file was moved to AVG Virus Vault, and you are sure that this file is correct and clean, it is possible that the detected file is a false alarm.
If so, we shall prepare the correction as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, false alarms do appear from time to time in every Anti-Virus software.

To solve the problem, please send us this file for analysis directly from the AVG program this way:

* Open AVG User Interface.
* Choose the "Virus Vault" option from the "History" menu.
* Right-click the false positive file and select the "Send to analysis" option from context menu.
* Fill in your e-mail address
* Confirm the dialog

This way file will be sent to our virus specialists for analysis and we will inform you about the result.

I tried to send on of the files DocViewer.exe to AVG but the sending failed
AVG reports DocViewer, TipWizard.exe and Wizzlilla.exe
