Att: WARKUS......Frozen HDD check

Post by toolie17 » Mon Mar 16, 2015 18:29

I have a Beyonwiz DP-P2 and my 'checking HDD' on 'config' screen does not end its scan..this means I am unable to do anything at all with it. Can you tell me what this would cost to fix please :?:

If you want an answer from Beyonwiz support, contact them directly. If you want an answer from warkus, a forum member with a strong reputation on the forum for his repairs, send him a PM.

I suspect that in both cases the answer will be "it depends on what's wrong".

I PM'd Mark at the start of the week and no reply. I've also posted on the Whirlpool forum and no response!

Really need to resolve this issue so I can use my Bwz again. It has been a great unit for the last five years and nothing else seems as good (according to Whirlpool forum). They do have bugs but mine has been fine apart from this issue and the usual minor glitches. Only one total wipeout where I lost all files.

If I can reset the unit (lose the files) and get it operating again I'm good with that.

Thanks
Jo

A factory reset won't remove any files, but I don't think it's likely to help. Reformatting the disk may well fail, too, given your description of the problem.

He may be on holiday.

Give the guy a chance. I know it is urgent for you but you are not trying to contact a company just an individual. That said he is sure to reply if he is around.

That's why it's referred to as Whingepool.

The Beyonwiz T2 is an excellent box and a good replacement for any existing DP-series PVR.
