Firmware Update

Post by benoneill » Mon Jun 14, 2010 19:34

Hi all
I'm sure this has been answered a thousand and one times, but I just can't seem to make sense of anything I've seen.

I have a DP-P2 running firmware version 01.07.021. My 'Firmware Information' screen shows:
System Id 0908 0000 0A22 9E3C
Firmware Version DPP2-01.07.021
Loader Version 1.1.3.1.76

I've been to the international Beyonwiz site to get the latest firmware (and I've read the Jan 2010 post about the latest firmware updates) but I don't know if I should be getting 01.05.320 or 01.07.031.

I then looked at the 'instructions' on the international site and:

01.07.31 said 'Do not apply this firmware to product that has serial number 1032097A01150 or lower';
01.05.320 said 'Do not apply this firmware to product that has serial number 1032098BXXXXX or higher'

The SN on the back of my unit is 103209CA00694 which doesn't really help. Each warning has 7 digits and then the letter. My SN has 6 digits and the letter.

I know this is probably a stupid post, but I just don't want to get the wrong firmware and then have to spend hours reversing the mistake.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Benoneill,

Given that your unit is already running the -1.07.xxx series of firmware I would stay with that series.

Regards,
Ian.

Thanks Ian
I upgraded to that firmware and everything seems to be fine.

The SN on the back of my unit is 103209CA00694
These numbers are in hexadecimal and ordered from lowest to highest they would be:

1032097A01150 (cut off for 01.07.x series)
1032098BXXXXX (cut off for 01.05.x series)
103209CA00694 (yours)

Thus you should use the 01.07.x series of firmware.

Looks like you should upgrade to 01.07.350. What firmware is installed? SETUP>System>Firmware>Firmware Information.

Thx Peter. Haven't set it up yet (bought yesterday), but will check current firmware when I do. Came with USB stick which has 01.07.055 I think. Guessed it would be 01.07 series, but wanted to make sure... :? Thx again.
Cheers, Andrew.
