Any ideas?
There are two lots of settings, one for Beyonwiz recordings, and one for all other media. Did you change the right settings?

I hadn't noticed that the PVR settings went past the bottom of the screen.

I use:
right +20secs, left -8secs, up +150secs, down=who cares (some relatively large backwards skip I rarely use in any kind of standard "advert" skipping way anyway).

So the reason for the asynchronous back vs forward (for the tiny left/right skips) is simple:
1. I learnt the virtues of a "binary skip" strategy with a TAP on the 5K (reducing skip amounts as you toggle back/forward to "home in" on a spot). The Wiz I compromised with a "2 step binary skip." so:
2. Effectively, if I overshoot with the 150secs (2.5mins), I hit back once with the -8secs, still see the show?... ok hit back again.
3. If I undershoot with 2.5mins (i.e. am still in the middle of an advert), I will go forward another +20secs, and the good thing about -8secs instead of -10secs for example is if you hit back -8secs (because your +20secs overshot you into the show instead), if you still see show, at least the second time you hit the -8secs, you won't be at the identical place to where you first hit the +20secs (where you decided you needed to skip forward in the first place due to possibly being at the beginning of a long promo or advert and then finding it was a 10sec promo or something).

This strategy is typically only 1 to 3 button presses to get me through most adverts on most stations.

This seems to work very well (98% of the time), except if I need to skip to the end or the start of a long file (2% of the time), which takes forever. If we could get the number keys configurable, it would be perfect.

Long-press LEFT or RIGHT. Number keys then take you to tens of percentages through the file; then OK.

I don't know how that post happened. I was sure I was following a "new post" link when I posted so I didn't look at the date, and the fact that it's in the DP series section where the advice I gave doesn't apply   .
