Bose universal remote
Hey there
I have a Beyonwiz FV L1. I just bought a Bose surround system. It came with a universal remote but no code for Beyonwiz product.
Does anyone know what the Beyonwiz code is (5 digits) so that I can program the Bose universal remote to operate my Beyonwiz PVR?
It's not a smart remote, so won't learn new stuff. You have to program it with the code. The instruction manual has every brand you've ever heard of, but no mention of Beyonwiz.
Thanks

Re: Bose universal remote
You will have to ask Bose. There is no such thing as a universal 5 digit code assigned to remotes. It's whatever code (if any) Bose decided to give it.

Hey thanks for that. Do you know if Beyonwiz is branded as something else in another country? Maybe the boxes are made as another brand but are changed to a beyonwiz in Australia.
Do you know what they come out of the factory as?

Re: Bose universal remote
The Beyonwiz FV L1 is a unique product specifically developed for Australia and not sold anywhere else.

Ok thanks for that. Time for an upgrade I think. Not a big fan of Beyonwiz anyway. Have had no end of trouble with it. The Beyonwiz box is Freeview which is exceedingly frustrating.
Thanks for your help. Really appreciate it.
Good forum too!!

Re: Bose universal remote
The FV (Freeview) model was a dog - a bad marketing decision when Freeview was (wrongly) seen as needed. Beyonwiz weren't the only ones who fell into that trap. Don't judge the brand by its worst example - BWs are very good devices (when the best bits aren't removed).Cyberdavil wrote:Ok thanks for that. Time for an upgrade I think. Hi Cyberdavil,
Welcome!
It should also be noted that the FV-L1 can be converted to become a regular Beyonwiz if you like. If you send the unit to Mark (Warkus on this forum) he can refurbish the unit and make the conversion at a very reasonable cost.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: Bose universal remote
Hey, thanks for the feedback.
Agree that my experience with Beyonwiz has been limited to only one product which was Freeview branded and also a box that constantly failed (every brand has its lemons).
I'm sure Beyonwiz products are generally fine. I must have just been unlucky with getting a dud.
Shame I cant program my universal remote to run my Beyonwiz,
All good though.

Maybe it's not so universal after all.Cyberdavil wrote:Shame I cant program my universal remote to run my Beyonwiz
Fully programmable learning remotes are actually not that expensive. You may find that for a few more dollars you can pick up a third party remote that will do it all. No need to spend up big on the likes of Logitech.
