Tuning to TV stations in Europe
Tuning to TV stations in Europe
I've moved to Spain with my two sony tvs and a T4 and an older unit. Both TVs scan and get all channels however neither beyonwiz picks up any and when I go to settings it appears that it's all hard-wired to Australia. Sorry if this has been asked before.

Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe
Try replacing /etc/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml with this one.
Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe
Well that worked a treat! Many many thanks:-)
Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe
Actually almost:-) Now my problem is the Time settings, specifically Timezone being limited to Australia which makes viewing the Guide and managing recordings a bit difficult.
I wonder if there is another .xml file somewhere with timezones for outside of Australia I can overwrite?

Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe
You can select Europe/London, which I believe would work. You should be able to install this to get Europe/Madrid. (Press MEDIA in the settings to see the list.)
Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe
Thanks again - I didn't quite know how to install the .ipk package, But I've added "
<zone name="(GMT+01:00) Madrid" zone="Spain/Madrid" />"
to timezone.xml in the /etc directory and now I'm confused. I now have the right day but I have GMT time ie 1 hour earlier than here.
I was thinking it may have something to do with daylight saving being switched on somewhere for Australia but I can't see where to set daylight saving to manual or auto.
But at least now I have the right day / date and only one hour out..

Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe - DP-P2
I'm now trying to sort the second beyonwiz, a DP-P2.
Any advice on how I should access the internal files to replace the xml file with the correct channel ranges..
I'm having all sorts of problems - have DHCP set and can ping it but cannot access it from win 10 - smb 1 is enabled. Can't even browse into it.
Also with the T4, files can be viewed, moved or copied between internal, hdd and usb using the beyonwiz's own file explorer but I cannot find anything similar with the DPP2.
So at the moment no network and no scanned channels...

Re: Tuning to TV stations in Europe
To install the IPK it's just a matter putting it where the Wiz can see it, then selecting it in Sources / Files and install.
I can't see where /etc/timezone.xml is read, so I don't know what's going on there. You could try Etc/GMT+1.
You'll need someone else to chime in for the DP-P2.
