How to recover files from old hard disk
My T3 died and so I have ordered a new V2, how can I extract some files from the old drive, can I simply fit the old drive into a usb case and plug it in to the new V2.
Thanks, Don.
Thanks, Don.

Yes. But don't use any settings backups from the T3 on the V2, especially not if you use IceTV.

A recording is made up of up to 6 files: you need to copy them all for the recording to have all its metadata information (.g. name, description, running time, etc) and tables used to implement FF/REW and skipping.
The easiest way to make sure that all the needed files are copied is to use the copy function (long-GREEN by default) in the media selection screen (MEDIA from live TV). If you have a number of shows to copy, you can use multiple-select to select more than one file for a copy.
(Sub)directories can also be copied by a single copy operation.

The drive from the T3 will already be in a suitable format to use on the V2 as its main recording drive if you wish, that way there's no need to copy those movies off the drive.
