off-air record: can I change title afterwards?

I know I can edit program titles when I set to record... but when already recorded?
Both ABC and SBS have start/finish times that are totally unreliable, and this necessitates setting wider time parameters - which leads, of course, to the titles of the programs showing as something other than the ones I've recorded.
I would be grateful to learn if there's a way in which I can change these wrong titles after the recording has been done.

If you set the timer from the EPG - rather than manually, I think you get the name of the selected program.
The timer can then be modified to add padding. Better still, add default padding for all recordings and that will make life even easier.
If you think ABC and SBS start/finish times are unreliable, I can only assume you don't watch the commercial networks

No access to EPG - I didn't connect my Beyonwiz to the Internet.
For starters my electronics rack is in the loungeroom and my computers are in the study; but mostly because I couldn't see the need.
You're right about not watching the commercial stations - and it's not for reasons of snobbery but because I CAN'T STAND the ad.s. So much for Russel Howcroft.
At this time I'm recording "The Protectors" on SBS and Bill Granger (for later transcription of nice recipes) on the ABC; at least SBS usually provide playoffs that warn me of impending ad. blocks - so large, sometimes, that I simply can't imagine how anyone can possibly watch TV 'live'.
Sometimes I think I'd like to simply time-shift entire nights of Aunty: the endlessly-repeated promo.s have become almost as bad as ad.s.

You don't need internet access for the EPG, it's part of the digital TV signal so it comes via the tuner. Just press GUIDE to see what you get.

Have just set to record "The Protectors" next Thursday night; and looking at the EPG showed me that there's a Montalbano on the same night!

Sorry to've been such a total klutz; but my husband used to do everything, and I just kind of lazed around accepting that. Having to either pay people to do most things and struggle to find out how to do some is a constant and wearing thing.
So I appreciate this kind of help more than I can say.

To fully populate the Free To Air (FTA) EPG, you need to go to every network for a few minutes each because the networks only send their own EPG data. Please note that you only need to view any channel from a network to receive the data for that network. e.g Tuning in to ABC1 will get the EPG data for ABC1, ABC2/4, ABC3 and ABC News 24.
Many users simply set consecutive daily 5 minute view (non-recording) timers for each network at a time that the PVR isn't usually in use - 3:00am for example. The EPG data is automatically saved to the hard drive and is therefore always available.
Once a timer is created from the EPG, you can modify it to make it a weekly event - great for series that maintain a weekly timeslot.
If you combine weekly timers with a bit of padding (2 pre and 10 post for ABC/SBS and 2 pre and 20 post for the rest) you will have automated much of your recording process.
A check a couple of times a week to ensure you capture late changes should see you right.
Presumably you have set up the skipping times to your preferences. This combined with padding and weekly timers will allow you access any shows you fancy from the commercial channels without being encumbered by the adverts.

I always thought it funny how in the first Mad Max, the underground car park at Melbourne Uni (under the lawns in front of the admin building) was supposed to be Max's headquarters

Huh? - I have no memory of shooting at UMelb. We never got within a bull's roar of the place - the entire shoot was done out in various boondocks.

I was at Melbourne Uni at the time I saw MM. The concrete columns in the underground car park are quite distinctive. And here's a shot of the location as used in MM. The page also has a photo of the car park in its more usual use.
