Fast Forward during playback
Fast Forward during playback
Hi All. I've recently brought a DP-H1 and so far it's working well. I have copied over a few old recorded files from the topfield which are rec files. I changed the extension to be .ts and the H1 can see it fine.
The issue I have is generally I had a buffer to the start and ends. How do you go about jumping 10, 15 or 30 seconds? Does the H1 have these functions?
Or is it because the file is streaming that it would need to cache the whole file to perform the jumping?
Shane

!??! Ok, not 100% sure what your question is and how you are playing these files.
Issue 1: Playing files greater than 2G (but less than 4G) on a FAT32 partition won't skip well at all (signed 32bit numbers used for a lot of things when it comes to FAT32 paritions...)
Using NTFS partition would solve this
But you haven't indicated if you are using network or HDD or stick or goodness knows...
2nd issue: REC files have a bit of a header at the beginning and even some Wiz TS files with a bit of junk at the beginning will throw the Wiz detection engine sometimes.
Netmask tonight just gave a link to a great app (TS Doctor) that will repair any TS like file, give this a go and see if it fixes your issue (if you are using network or NTFS for issue 1 already). It is a quick and simple file repair tool, as it doesn't re-encode the file it is very quick to do the repair.
The Wiz skips just fine otherwise.

If you are asking about the Toppy 5000 skip buttons (coloured keys), then yes. The H1 has menu configurable skip keys from firmware version .280.

Re: Fast Forward during playback
The H1 has the same skip functions as all the other non-Freeview Beyonwiz models. In recent firmware (what firmware are you running?), you can set percentage or seconds skips to be pretty much anything you like in SETUP>Preference, Media Player and PVR. You can set separate skips for playing media playback from recording playback.shanem2 wrote:...
