Re: DP P1 can't see Windows PC
Problem solved. Not sure how or why and don't understand why installing a new router caused the problem. However, all I did was turn on network discovery and file sharing and made User/Owner 1 sharing with everyone.

DP P1 can't see Windows PC
Have been absent from here for a long time. Just today I had to install a new Optus Router (the one configured for NBN connection). Everything went smoothly (Macs, Toshiba laptop, iPad, iPhone) with just one exception - my Beyonwiz DP P1. The BW connects to a Toshiba laptop running Windows 8. The BW...

Connecting DP-P1 to Windows 8
For a number of years my DP-P1 connected nicely to my Vista laptop via ethernet. Last week the laptop died and I now have a low end Toshiba with Windows 8 installed. I've looked through the various posts but not been able to find anything directly related to my needs. The fact that there is very lit...

Timer Recording Problem
Tonight I was watching Prime through the P1 when a Timer recording for ABC2 kicked in. The picture on the TV went "black" even though the BW was still showing Prime on the display. This has happened on a few occasions before when a timer has started while we were watching live TV (not time...

Why is it so?
On Monday night I was watching ABC HD and had set a timer to record Sea Patrol. Nothing else was happening or scheduled to happen. The message "Timer starting" came up on the screen at 8.30 and a few minutes later everything went "black". Had to switch back to the TV and then bac...

Download 01.05.301
I've waited a few days before deciding to up update the firmware and would like to download the "old" way rather than via WizTV. However when I go to the beyonwiz.com.au and click on Download, all I get is a page full of junk. I went to the .com site and 301 isn't even listed. Can someone ...

First, tonymy01: The Wiz is connected to one of the four ethernet ports on the Netgear wireless router. My current set up is a P1 connected with LAN to an iMac running Mac OS X via a Netgear Wireless Router. When setting up Windows Sharing on the Wiz I had to use the same User Name (short name) and Password as the iMac to allow connection. Everything works fine. I'd now like to connect to the Wiz as w...

OK, some help with that please. I'm using a Dlink router. On the DHCP page it indicates a list of DHCP Clients which includes IP Addresses 10.1.1.2, 10.1.1.3 and 10.1.1.4. The device at the IP Address 10.1.1.2 has a Mac Address 00:19:1E:00:12:56. This is the same info as on the BW network setting pa...

BW Network Trouble
Whenever I try to contact my computer from the BW (after the BW has been turned off for a period of time, using the remote) I have to go through a rigmarole as follows: 1. Usually get a message like "Network Server not found" or "Temporarily not accessible" 2. Selecting "Dis...

As a new owner of a BW and LiDiC I've found understanding and setting up to be somewhat of a challenge. While I've found a few places in Wollongong one can purchase the items from, genuine knowledge and experience in using and setting them up has been thin on the ground. I'd just like to thank all t...

SD or HD Recording?
I believe the BW can record up to about 30 hrs HD and about 100 SD. Is this correct?
Where is the setting which switches between HD and SD recording? Probably somewhere really obvious but reading through the manual etc I haven't been able to find it.

I take it from the responses that you guys see nothing wrong with the settings I have in the BW and that there is nothing there that will improve things. I think I understand the comments about the image via the BW being compressed and then upscaled. If that's the only explanation it's a bit disappo...

Recording Pay TV (Austar) Again!
In my earlier post I was puzzling over how the picture from Austar was better quality when connected directly to the TV via S-Video than via Composite to the LiDiC. The answer turned out to be the composite connection. Once I dispensed with that and used the S-Video to the LiDiC I obtained a better ...

Thanks Peter. A couple of questions. Do you have the MPEG-2 Playback Component? Is this necessary? I assume it is because Streamclip gives a warning message about it. Do you use Quicktime to do the editing or some other application? So far I'm only working on a 5 min file I recorded to play around w...
