Re: Yet Another Recording Downloader for the Wiz
Thanks for that. It's a bit tedious, but it should be workable side-by-side with Avidemux to find the correct timestamps. Avidemux will tell you which frames are I-frames, so that may help with placing cuts in locations that avoid issues. Yes Avidemux is a good idea - can move to keyframes with up ...

MKVToolNix GUI can directly take the TS file directly and apply cuts while preserving subs. How do you use MKVToolNix GUI to do edits? Requires manually typing cut point timestamps. 9 years on and I'm still using YARDWiz with my trusty DP-P1
Workflow has changed a bit with tidying up the H.264 recordings.
Can no longer use ProjectX to edit and keep subtitles in sync but I found that MKVToolNix GUI can directly take the TS file directly and apply cuts while preserving subs.

I've contacted 7food via Facebook and they have forwarded it to their programming department so we'll see if they change anything.

Well 2 years later and they've done the same with 7food i.e. using the HE-AAC audio codec in Sydney so no audio on my trusty DP-P1 with 01.05.350 firmware.
Don't really want the hassle of changing firmware just to watch this. I can always watch it through the TV.
Is this the same in other markets?

Thanks for the tip guys. My DP-S1 now plays 7flix audio in Sydney so I won't have to load the 01.07.xx firmware and lose DVD support.
Pity I didn't know about this before doing the firmware change to 01.07.xx on my DP-P1 last week.

Tried it out with a 9HD recording and ProjectX 0.91.0
Yes after setting the enableHDDemux flag ProjectX can demux the .ts file into .h264 video file, .ac3 audio file and .srt subtitle but there's no preview for MPEG-4/H.264 so I can't really use ProjectX to top+tail and remove ads.

My experience is that the DP series Wizzes are indeed more limited when accessing content from the network than USB. I too got a NAS but found that content with higher bitrates didn't work well and ended up copying everything to local USB hard drives.

You can transfer slightly faster if the Wiz isn't doing much e.g. just leave it at the file player menu.
Also worth top and tailing recordings to reduce transfer time.
YARDWiz beeps as each transfer completes so you can be doing something else rather than just watching the transfer.
