I have both good and bad news to report. I'm going to persevere, because it's beginning to get to me. I purchased a Harmony 515 for $35 from PLE Computers in Perth (BigW wanted $89, JB-HiFi $86, JB-HiFi Online $68 and DSE $49.95). The website is very bad and it continually times out. Logitech tells ...

It's not a direct answer to your question, but Beyonwiz has released the source code for WizDR, a Windows program that allows a PC to capture data from the LiDiC. It should reveal a bit about how the LiDiC communicates over the USB connection. The source code is on the Beyonwiz corporate downloads ...

Has anyone who actually has a LiDiC plugged the device into their computer to see what vendor and product id it returns? Why do I care? A LiDiC streams Audio and Video to a BW. There is no reason that the stream has to come from a device connected to a LiDiC, it could perhaps come from another devic...

I've just spent the last 35 minutes investigating the Harmony range of remote controls. Using the Logitech site I was able to determine that they claim that all my equipment is supported - excellent, great start - mind you, I didn't type in a bogus piece of equipment to see if it also claimed suppor...

You could use the TV button mode on the Beyonwiz remote control to control your amplifier. An alternative would be for you to invest in a universal remote control to control all your devices with a single remote control. Thank you for those suggestions, I will consider them though I'm unclear how t...

The Beyonwiz should *not* be used for audio level control. Think of the Beyonwiz controls as a trimpot or balance level adjustment only. All audio level changes should be done by the amplifier controlling the speakers. I cannot impose this on my family. There is a MUTE button on the BW, as are volu...

BW remote for digital audio?
My DP S1 is connected via HDMI to a projector and via coax to an amplifier. The amplifier also has optical and 5.1 analogue inputs. In AV-Setup, the audio output is set to 5.1ch. S/PDIF: enabled. Dolby D compression: RF Mode Watching anything other than DVD will allow audio to be controlled by the B...

LIDIC USB interface
I'm pretty sure that the LIDIC interface provides a two-way digital stream of data between the BW and the LIDIC, so you can change channels, and receive Video/Audio back. I wondered if the same interface might provide for a DAB+ radio, that is, change channels, and receive Video/Audio back. I'd real...

Having a podcast in multiple locations is not helpful - it's hard to determine if you're looking at the same list you saw in a different category. Mixing video and audio podcasts is not helpful. Sometimes I'd like to use my BW as a TV, sometimes as a Radio. Finding out which it is, only when you act...

Single Frame forward/backward
Is there a way that I can step forwards and backwards, one frame at a time?
At the moment I have fast-fwd and fast-rew, and if I pause, I get down to 1/32 frames.

Filename Overwrite
Is there a way that I can record the news every day at the same time in such a way that there is only one file, that is, the only file on disc is the current one. So, on Wednesday, news is recorded to ABC News, then on Thursday, the file is re-used, and again on Friday. So when I finally get to look...

Re: Thank You
I should point out that the final "yes", came because it runs Linux Nice sentiments, but why is it important it "runs" Linux in particular? Its not like normal Linux intalls that you are free to mess with yourself to fix bugs or add features. Well, it's hard to summarise that, b...

Thank You
I purchased a DP-S1 on Wednesday from the GoodGuys in Osborne Park, WA, for $949. I would like to thank beyonwiz for this device. It does everything I expected it to, does it well and the final proof was that my technology phobic family also loves and uses it. The final purchasing decision was based...
