Aren't there markets where both 9Gem and 9Gem HD are broadcast?
The Brisbane 'GEM's we get on the Sunshine Coast (92 = 9GEM - 95 = 9GEM HD') both show the 9 dots with GEM.
No 'HD' is displayed

Re: Finally got around to installing my T2 - no sound

My new T2 delivered recently had exactly the same problem. I found that HDMI = picture but no sound. I tried component cables and the sound worked OK. I then switched back to HDMI, and thought it worked, but it was getting sound from the component audio cables which I had left in. So - while I was w...

Hi Arthur,

Yes and yes.
I have no problems with IceTV in that regard.

I do have to make sure I manually scan the SC Frequencies, though, both for ABC and SBS, as they can clash with the Brisbane ones.

Re: Easier way to fire up iView? (T2)

The benefit of the new TVs, though, is that they will give you iView and the like, through the network, no matter what the reception is like.
Having said that, the tuner in our LG is so much stronger, even when the PVRs break up a bit, its reception is good.

Just a suggestion. I have a T2 also, and the reception on Tuner "A" is quite poor, whereas tuner "B" is close to "100" for both strength and quality. Try setting the default tuner in the settings menu to tuner"B". It seems to "boost" the signal within...

Ugly doesn't worry me either - I connect via Ethernet using Ethernet over power, and I have the usb tuner in the back, and a usb fan sitting on the shelf behind the T2, which is plugged into the front usb. keeps the tuner area cool which used to run very very hot.

LCNs are not used anywhere in the protocol for the T series IceTV. Channels are identified by ONID:TSID:SID triples. They both provide their own unique sets of triples, when scanned, one for LCN 72 and one for LCN 62. Do they? Yes ! There are two sets of triples for 7TWO in the Sunshine coast scan ...
