As you know there are two USB points on the V2. I've got a USB 3.0 Hub, which (naturally) is plugged into the USB 3 point. The other one is USB2. Is it OK to plug the USB tuner into that, or should I plug it into the hub?

You need to reformat the SD card on the V2. Then it will support the filesystem operations needed for timeshift (which is what the popup is complaining about). Judy, when you look at the devices list in MENU>Information>Devices on your V2, how many tuners do you see? How many do you expect to see (i.e. do you also have a single or dual USB tuner attached to the V2)? Also, minor off-topic point, your IceTV signature block lists your PVRs as Windows 7 Media...

Just to keep everyone up to date, the playback froze a few times tonight. I wasn't moving anything, but it was recording a show. Pausing and unpausing seemed to fix it every time

The deletes may have been queued as background tasks, and were waiting on other tasks ahead in the queue to finish first.
There's a "background delete" setting you can disable (MEDIA, MENU>>Settings...)
